Our broken world is a canvas for the transformative power of the gospel. And as we engage in the pursuit of justice and compassion, we become agents of that transformation. How can our assumptions and attitudes hinder us from sharing Jesus with the non-religious and younger generations? In this week's conversation on FrontStage BackStage, host Jason Daye is joined by Aaron Pierce. Aaron is the CEO and Mission Director for Steiger International. His most recent book is entitled Not Beyond Reach. Together, Aaron and Jason look at some of the tightly held assumptions that actually prevent us from pointing the non-religious to the beauty of Jesus Christ. Aaron also helps us understand how we can shift our heart posture so we are not fiercely defending against others' cultural convictions but rather entering into conversations around some commonly held uncertainties and fears. Well now Amit Paul has published our latest conversation in his World of Wisdom podcast. I was prepared to try to write some concise and fair comments about the episode so that not too many people would miss listening to something that I upon my first time listening found surprisingly clear and moving. But then I found that Amit had taken that task away from me. So here is his excellent presentation of our conversation: "What is how we are treating the planet and each other trying to teach us? That was the question the brilliant Karl-Erik Edris left me with after EP227 on the World of Wisdom Podcast. We spoke of many things related to the rise and fall of civilisations. More things than I will be able to intelligently sum up in a short post. This is a very important conversation however and for those of you filled with the idea of being instrumental in whatever this change is 👉 listen. Here are some nuggets: ⚖️ Systems of justification. "No-one, almost no-one does things that they believe are wrong. We only do what we think is good for what we want to favour. " What is your system of justification? ⏳ "The problem is the problem because we have the wrong perspective. [The problem] will teach us what the better perspective is." We speak about the possibility that we are still on the axial age project of trying to realise (practice) human's capacity for unconditional love. How far does your unconditional love stretch? ⚙ "The modern era is an attempt to give the church a better vision. [...] It invites us to get rid of the religious ‘rubbish’ and instead put our faith in our rational thinking. But it went to far." Karl-Eriks radical invitation is for you to take part in the betterment of the world through WHATEVER it is you are currently doing. Are you willing to step up to take that responsibility? This is one of the most radical and yet straight forward conversations I've had in a long time. Listen to it literally. As if we meant every word. Then what does it do to you? What are you invited to learn?" Click on the link here, or search for World of Wisdom Episode 227 wherever podcasts are found. https://lnkd.in/dZ_j2cCa

Happy to say my guest episodes on my podcast People Who Play are back 🤗 This one is such a cracker! Clay Routledge joined me to dig into why there has been such an uplift in the pursuit of nostalgia and shared so many brilliant aha moments. Things we chatted about: ⭐️ What nostalgia is and how it’s different to memory ⭐️ How longing for our own childhood experiences impacts our feelings in parenthood ⭐️ If some generations are more proactive with nostalgia and why ⭐️ which portals (music, characters, stories) are most potent in accessing nostalgia ⭐️ How we can use nostalgia to solve current problems ⭐️ The benifits of proactively seeking nostalgia in creative practices Find it wherever you get your pods and check out Clay’s new book PAST FORWARD. https://lnkd.in/dE6tBwqe

Starting this week yet again with some more of my favorite truths that I live by in this moment. These are inspired by the 37 truths I live by that I reflected on this past month for my 37th birthday. For 1 - 18, head back to the last TWO videos! 1️⃣9️⃣Honor + share your gifts (that’s you) with the world. 2️⃣0️⃣Jump, leap + take chances. 2️⃣1️⃣Trust in the process. 2️⃣2️⃣The courage you need to take the first step is already within you. 2️⃣3️⃣Set boundaries + hold those boundaries as they become your norm. 2️⃣4️⃣You will know when you know to make that decision, do that very thing. 2️⃣5️⃣Showing up as you takes less energy, thought + effort than showing up as who you think you should be. 2️⃣6️⃣Take the time to get to know + date yourself. 2️⃣7️⃣Wear the dress, lipstick, earrings, fun clothes + all that external reflections that make you feel like you. 2️⃣8️⃣Journal + reflect daily. 2️⃣9️⃣Breathe. 3️⃣0️⃣Listen to the music, sing it even louder + attend the in-person concert For more, follow + tune along as next Monday, as I will be sharing more. And if you don’t want to wait for the next video, tune into episode 101 of “Living an Intentional Life Podcast” on all places you find your podcast. https://lnkd.in/gwdf5DxW

If you work with a christian or religious podcast don't miss this. According to Pew Research, 2% of top ranking podcasts are Religious. About a quarter are true Crime. Possible Ways of thinking: -Are we too focused on competing with the nonprofit down the street that we are ignoring the fact that more people rather listen to true crime than our content? Remember almost 70% of Americans consider themselves some kind of Christians. -Tackling a specific unique topic as a Christian might be more valuable than starting another podcast in the religious section. -Stories are more interesting than information. What would you add? What do you disagree with?
