Poitras Relay, Request for Sponsorship for 2024 Indian Relay Racing Season “For the love of the Buffalo Pony”
Dear Prospective Sponsor,
Based out of Poitras Stables located on Saulteaux First Nation, in Treaty 6 territory (Saskatchewan), Poitras Relay is a family-run team new to one of the Canada’s fastest growing extreme equine sport, called Indian Relay. Horse racing of all kinds has been in our blood for generations and involves family and friends of all ages. Our commitment and passion for our 4-legged relatives, gives Poitras Relay a competitive advantage and is demonstrated by our successes in the equine industry. In 2021 the Star Phoenix featured a video explaining why horse racing continues to be an integral part of Poitras Stables.
With our competitive spirit and through hard work, Poitras Relay placed first, second and third at almost every show in the 2023-2024 Elite Indian Relay Association season. In 2023 Poitras Relay achieved many major accomplishments including: winning the River Cree show, winning the High Prairie show (which qualified us to be able to run at the Championship Of Champions in Casper, Wyoming), and finishing 4th at that show. This was both very meaningful, and memorable for the entire Poitras Relay team and equine athletes. This would not have been possible without our past sponsors who greatly helped cover our expenses for the season.
By sponsoring, you will be supporting Indigenous, Indigenous Sport, and help us reach our full potential as elite athletes representing Saulteaux First Nation, Treaty 6, Saskatchewan and Canada at events spanning across the western provinces of Canada and in the United States. As a sponsor you will be a part of our team and feel the adrenaline rush of Indian Relay. Each event could have anywhere from 200 spectators to 9000! As of today, we can proudly announce we won the Muckleshoot Gold Cup. We have also been invited to participate in the Calgary Stampede, the Greatest Outdoor Show on earth taking place from July 5-14, 2024.
What is also super unique about this 2024 racing season is that the APTN will be filming each of our events in a TV series called “Horse Nation”. Potential exposure is wide and vast. Again, just like Calgary, APTN only follows certain teams for TV series.
There are 4 levels of sponsorship which can be discussed over a telephone conversation. There are unique benefits based on sponsor amount. Having our financial needs met by your company would greatly reduce our overall expenses and allow us to focus on the sport and our equine athletes.
