The Long Beach School District (LBSD) partnered with Path to optimize energy consumption and tackle deferred maintenance needs. Through a comprehensive energy assessment, Path identified key efficiency improvements to reduce costs and boost performance across the district. Project Highlights: ➡️ Interior and exterior LED lighting upgrades ➡️ HVAC control systems and plug-load management ➡️ Installation of energy-efficient, hurricane-rated windows and doors at two elementary schools, enhancing both energy savings and storm season safety As a result, LBSD saw significant cost savings, which allowed for further improvements to school facilities. This project, completed between December 2018 and August 2019, impacted over 480,000 square feet of interior space across six buildings, including five schools and one administrative building. #PathInfrastructureSolutions #LongBeachMS #EnergyEfficiency

#365DaysofSustainability, Day 195: Westerville School District is actively implementing a master plan that includes renovations and new construction projects. Emerald Built Environments is engaged by the district as the commissioning agent for the master plan, and one of the project includes renovations to Westerville South high school. Fun fact: When this renovation was completed in 2023, each wing of the high school reflected a different natural element: water, fire, and air. #Sustainability #Commissioning

School's out for the summer, but water leaks don't take a break. Unoccupied dorms and student apartments could be at risk. H2O Degree has the solution for student housing: wireless water monitors and automatic shutoff valves. https://bit.ly/3O6smb0 #waterwaste #propertymanagement #studenthousing #colleges #universities #submetering #utilitymetering

Does Your Building Have a Premises Information Box with Appropriate Signage? 🔥 In light of updated Fire Safety legislation following the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, all high-rise buildings—including student accommodation built like apartment blocks—are recommended to install a Premises Information Box (PIB). But it’s not just about having the box; clear, visible signage directing fire services to its location is essential. Why are PIBs and signage so critical?🚨 In an emergency, every second counts. A well-placed PIB gives the fire service immediate access to essential building information, helping them respond faster and more effectively to protect lives and property. Directional signs ensure that the PIB is easily located, even if it’s inside or not immediately visible from the entrance, reducing delays. Help protect your building and its occupants by equipping your premises with a clearly marked and accessible PIB, supported by directional signage to guide emergency responders swiftly in any critical situation. 🆘 Shop Now -> https://lnkd.in/e3yYiDwE #SafetySigns4Less #FireSafety #PremisesInformationBox #PIB #SecureInformationBox #SIB #SafetyMatters #BuildingSafety #DirectionalSigns #InformationSigns #SafetySigns

When managing a school or municipal building, it's crucial to stay on top of all the important elements that keep the building functioning smoothly. Unfortunately, with such a large and complex space to oversee, it's easy for certain tasks to get pushed to the backburner. So, don't let it fall by the wayside - make sure to prioritize regular maintenance and updates for your building's operating system.

Tomorrow is Election Day! Be sure to get out to the polls to vote. If you’re not sure where to vote, please use the Iowa Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place: https://trst.in/dYh08c On the ballot, Lewis Central has a proposed bond, Article RZ on page 2. If passed, the $30 million bond would provide necessary safety, security, and infrastructure improvements in our school buildings. This includes, but is not limited to: 🔹Modern safety technology (door contact sensors, updated cameras) 🔹Secure entrances 🔹Renovations to our middle school built in 1961 🔹Improved ADA accessibility in the middle school and on our playgrounds 🔹Large infrastructure improvements like HVAC and plumbing Did you know that corporate entities, railroad, and utility companies will pay for over 50% of the bond? We often hear at City Council Annexation Hearings that new Townhome Developments would add MORE variety of housing units in our area. Sooooo….we wanted to share a slide that was used in our presentation last Monday about Tri Creek Townhome Development. Within ½ mile of the proposed townhome development, there are numerous other developments consisting of townhomes. Approved townhomes as shown on this aerial is 824 townhomes not including the Fendol Farms, Towns on Leesville or 1301 Doc Nichols. A comprehensive review/assessment of all additional traffic and infrastructure impacts (including schools, police, fire stations, EMS, etc.) given all the development in this area (recently completed or underway) NEEDS to be completed. This is a relatively small project but cumulative impacts of all the smaller projects such as this one cannot be overstated. This project did not include policies outlined in the Comprehensive Plan like universal design, green building and tree coverage more than the UDO. Yet…..it passed with 0 affordable units!
