*** Seeking advice, opinions and alternative ways of thinking.. The context: Imagine playing in a league where you are surrounded by incredible athletes. Every match, you see your teammates and the opposition play some brilliant rugby. This said, none of your matches are professionally filmed. Only people that physically attend the game get to appreciate just how brilliant the level is or people that love squinting on poorly filmed amateur footage. So.. No real highlights to show. Very hard to acquire a new fan base as there is no marketing team or professional filming crew to generate a momentum (to note: the French population are very fond of the region they are from and hence tend to be loyal to their hometowns). Furthermore, sponsorship is limited as there is not a lot of potential exposure for the sponsor to feel like it’s worth investing in a team or in the league. The question: How do you generate revenue in order to make the league self-sufficient? The league organizers potentially going at a loss by investing in proper marketing and filming crew as a way to generate marketable content and have the potential to expand their fan base? (Hopefully TV, or live streaming, but just proper filming to be able to use social media to reach new audiences) Or The league organizers hopefully eventually generate enough word of mouth interest to one day have enough spectators to be financially healthy? (The tickets are currently free to attend the matches so they might wait a while!) Or Each team in the league tries to find their own sponsors and use their network to ensure that they have a revenue (this is how the league currently operates and it leads to some teams having much bigger budgets than others which then leads to a big gap in skill level amongst the league.. which leads to some matches having ridiculous scores. It also leads to no team wanting to pay for proper filming and hoping the French rugby union pays for it instead (They don’t). It also leads to sponsors mostly being former players that sponsor out of friendship rather than out of actual belief in women’s sports/ women’s rugby. Or Find a wealthy women’s rugby fan (or a group of them) to sponsor (or buy) the league and revamp it? Or Any other idea as to how to make that league self sufficient or at least grow?

Hmmmmm.... 🤔 I wonder what the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games transition teams might need. 🤔 I wonder what company has the contract for the transition teams. 🤔 I wonder what company has the transportation contract. 🤔 I wonder if property owners know they can lease their homes to athletes who will be in the U.S. to train next year? 🤔 I wonder how D1 TRAINING is maximizing the use of their facilities? "Right away the big scary words 😱: it's the end... (of the world) of UEFA. ➡ A well-crafted #media #strategy that does not correspond to #reality at all. If you are a subscriber, you know: HLSC defends a socio-liberal model of the French and #European #sports "system. It was therefore normal for this company to be interested in 2 of the 3 decisions of the Cour de justice de l'Union européenne (CJUE) which were rendered on December 21, 2023: 1- The European #SuperLeague (ESL) case which is a "pre-judgment" before the final decision of the Madrid Commercial Court; 2- The International Skating Union (ISU) case which constitutes the final judgment of a case that had begun with a statement of objections by the Commission in 2017. This analysis that I carried out on behalf of my company has been so intense and in-depth, on such a fascinating subject, that what was supposed to be a simple HLSC File will ultimately result in the #publication of a #book. 👉 We will experience a real #revolution in #sports over the next few years. Indeed, it must be understood that the vast majority of changes that have taken place in the #sports #system (particularly professional, but not only) over the last 30 years is linked to European decisions and directives. Since 2001 and the International Automobile Federation (FIA) case, but also since 2008 with the MOTOE case, ..., #Sport #Gouverning #Body (SGB) have been urged to find a solution to the conflict of interest linked to their historical monopoly (de facto or de jure as in France) which gives them both #regulatory #power (including regulating access to the market for organizing and exploiting sports entertainment), and that of #economic #exploitation of this market. A literature review of international authors specializing in #European #competition #law and #economics (publications in English and French) highlights the obligation for SGB to choose among 3 solutions; none of these allowing them to arbitrarily prohibit this market access anymore. It is now evident that the #European #authorities wish to introduce #competition in the organization and exploitation of competitive sports entertainment. The question is: what type of competition? - Would a European extension of the #NBA (closed league) be conceivable? The answer is certainly: no! - Would a semi-closed football #SuperLeague be legal? At first glance and in view of the existing (Euroleague basketball), one might think so. However, a careful reading of the (pre)judgments of last December 21 seems to affirm the contrary. In any case, what is certain is that the #sports and #economic #model of the #European #sports #SGB will have to evolve. But, from there to claim a challenge to the very existence of UEFA. NO!"

That’s conflict management. Well DJ Tony Rojas. Sometimes when the stakes are high, tension arises and we bôme very frustated and upset. But if we take time to de-escalate, breathe we can resolve the issue. I have seen these scenes several times managing projects. It happens during meetings when stakeholders have conflicting interests and one wants to prevail. As a project manager, I usually take back the control of situation as Dj Tony and pacify the room. There are different techniques to do that, but my favorite is storytelling to make people relaxed and smile. In this way, collaboration becomes much more effective and everyone can focus on the deliverable value.
