I have rarely experienced such a passionate community as that of Dungeons 4. After it has been possible to create maps using the editor on PC, we are finally making the community maps available on consoles as well with update 1.5. We showcase two of these maps (Warsong by ice-design and Gently Down The Stream by test9000) in our latest trailer. Unleash the Evil Mods! #dungeons4

My favorite (un)written video game moments, part 1 So I noticed I've amassed a big number of connections and followers after my last post lamenting the current situation of the video game industry. So instead of sharing even more sorrow, I've decided to share some of my favorite gaming moments, focusing on what's written and what's shown, but most importantly, what's NOT written and subtlety shown and implied (the famous "show, don't tell"). What better narrative to talk about in part 1 other than "the" narrative game: The Last of Us! (Part 1 😂 ). [SPOILERS IF YOU INTEND TO PLAY THE GAME AND/OR WATCH THE SERIES] I want to start with the tragic story of the brothers Henry & Sam. Initially mistaking them as another more violent raiders, Joel and Ellie befriend the two brothers, who are struggling to survive on their own. After going through the sewers, where the stalkers are introduced, an enemy type that can't be detected by the hearing mechanic and can easily surprise players who lower their guards, and the amazingly fun, well-designed sniper sequence, our "heroes", so to speak, are out of the woods. While they talk about the good old times before bed, Ellie secretly gifts Sam a toy robot he found on a store (with that Uncharted Easter egg) that Henry forbid him to take, saying they must only take what's necessary. A seemingly ungrateful Sam angrily asks what's Ellie's greatest fear. She jokingly says "scorpions are scary". But after noticing he's serious, she reveals her greatest fear is to end up alone (which sadly happens, but that's way down the road). It is revealed Sam's question may had come up after showing to the audience he got bit on his ankle. Cut to the next morning, where Henry is cooking up breakfast. As expected, Sam turns into a zombie, attacking Ellie. Joel rushes to get his weapons, but Henry fires a warning shot, preventing him to defend Ellie and kill the undead Sam. Before (more) damage is done to her, Henry fires another shot, this time killing his younger brother for good. The subtlety some may have missed in this scene is when Henry points his gun to Joel and furiously states "it's all your fault!", before shooting himself as the game time-skips to Autumn. We can see (even read on the subtitles) he says "Henry, what have you done?" Despite aiming and shouting at Joel, Henry is actually talking to himself and blaming himself for his little brother's death. In denial and in the belief he is responsible for failing to protect the only family he still had in that unforgiving, destroyed world, he punishes himself by taking his own life. Truly, a very tragic, emotion-heavy scene that shocked us and stuck in our minds. NEXT UP: speaking of brothers, let's talk about the very next part, where Joel reunites with his brother Tommy after years of not seeing each other. Volo's Guide to Monsters Immerse yourself in monster lore in this supplement for the world’s greatest roleplaying game This is NOT just another Monster Manual! Volo’s Guide to Monsters provides something exciting for players and Dungeon Masters everywhere. · A deep dive into the lore behind some of D&D’s most popular and iconic monsters · Dozens of monsters new to the fifth edition to include in your epic adventures · New playable races to allow you to build characters to fit nearly any type of story in your D&D game. The esteemed loremaster Volothamp Geddarm is back and he’s written a fantastical dissertation, covering some of the most iconic monsters in the Forgotten Realms. Unfortunately, the Sage of Shadowdale himself, Elminster, doesn’t believe Volo gets some of the important details quite right. Don’t miss out as Volo and Elminster square off (academically speaking of course) to illuminate the uninitiated on creatures both common and obscure. Uncover the machinations of the mysterious Kraken Society, what is the origin of the bizarre froghemoth, or how to avoid participating in the ghastly reproductive cycle of the grotesque vargouille. Dungeon Masters and players will get some much-needed guidance as you plan your next venture, traipsing about some dusty old ruin in search of treasure, lore, and let’s not forget ... dangerous creatures whose horns, claws, fangs, heads, or even hides might comfortably adorn the walls of your trophy room. If you survive. Research has never been so dangerous! https://lnkd.in/gUmMEJCn

⚒ Family, friends, fellow gamers, educators, and students, please take a moment to FOLLOW, LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE my Twitch and YouTube channels and videos. With your support, we will grow GRUMPY GNOME GAMING to family-friendly channels for gaming playthroughs, tutorials, and live streaming. Welcome to the ultimate in evil as we take a party of half-orc murder hobos through the original Baldur's Gate (EE) game. Although this game is not meant for an evil party, I put enough enough spin on the storyline to make this a believable playthrough. I use as much of the plot as possible, but spoiler alert... the antagonist chose the wrong mentor to cut down, and hence setting our party into a rage of revenge. This game is based on the 2nd edition ruleset of Dungeons and Dragons, and the story is centered in the Forgotten Realms world map. Warning - thar be spoilers! Thank you in advance for your support and stay tuned so we can get our grump on together. Grumpy Gnome Gaming: https://lnkd.in/eCdb2e-5 Grumpy Gnome Fishing: https://lnkd.in/gDCH_gHg

Once Human, developed by Starry Studio, is a post-apocalyptic survival game with a unique twist. Players battle creatures transformed by the alien substance Stardust. While the game excels in exploration and crafting, its combat is underwhelming and overly easy. #Survival #Stardust #Gameplay https://lnkd.in/g-jxXPkV
Once Human review - mediocre action limits a cracking open world

Can I nerd out about an older game that didn't get the hype it deserved? Is this the place? Savage Skies is a PS2 Flight simulator giving players the chance to serve as riders on large, mythical monsters to do battle in the air. The game was originally intended as a licensing tie in game endorsed by the one and only Ozzy Osbourne himself, but licensing complications and a tragically famous terror attack in the United States caused real complications. In the end, the game had its flaws in graphics and difficulty, but it did such a fantastic job of selling the fantasy of riding large, mythical beasts into glorious combat serving the interests of one of several factions. 6 Degrees of Freedom is hard to make fun, but recent successes in the games industry shows it can be done! Savage Skies js one of the few games that I played to 100% completion, and I can count those games on my fingers. The game featured a robust story mode featuring 3 factions, hidden levels that unlocked secret beasts, and multiplayer modes for players to go head to head in open arenas. The game received a 6.5 on Metacritic, with comments about low graphics, excessive difficulty, and sound issues. The game suffered from some very impactful setbacks, releasing short of the original vision. Like any game designer, I have several different game designs I hope to one day release. One is a modern take on Savage Skies for a modern audience, giving it the design and attention it deserves. Riding mythical beasts into glorious battle is just too fun to not want to do! The game doesn't need to be a huge commercial success, but designing flying monsters for different factions aesthetics would be such a fun project. Have you played this underrated gem? Do you know another gem people sleep on?

Grave Destroyer Log #3 Completing and uploading my first game was truly a great experience. As at the time I did not know how the whole process works, I ended up just making a simple executable file and uploading it on gamejolt and itch. If I had known how to upload files properly, I could have made simple changes to make the game compatible on multiple platforms and making the whole process of playing the easier on the players. Now I try to accommodate my games on as many platforms as it can meaningfully accommodate(The controls or the game perspective making sense). This not only makes the playing experiences better but also makes the game available to more people.
