Establishment of aerospace supply-chain task force says Flight Global.com Interesting reading in the last few days from the informed industry information source Flight Global.com Happily none of the characters depicted below on this 'toolbox' will be involved, but it's good to see that senior representatives of the aerospace industry have set up a joint organisation planned to look into the problem of unapproved parts being supplied in aviation. This has come about as a result of the high-profile investigation dealing with the goings on at AOG Technics, uncovered last year. The company is now in the spotlight from a criminal inquiry following the discovery that components offered by the company were suspected of not having correct documentation, possibly even falsified. Flight Global report that the new body will be called the Aviation Supply Chain Integrity Coalition, whose founders include CFM International partners Safron and GE Aerospace, along with Boeing and Airbus and others according to the source. More details from Flight Global.com. ✈️💭If you ever encounter an International Civil Aviation Organization type desigator for aircraft which is BCS1 or BCS3 - which aircraft does it represent? ➡️BCS1 stands for Airbus A220-100 series and, ➡️BCS3 stands for Airbus A220-300 series. Which is interesting because Airbus A320 (example) has a ICAO type designator A320, which can be related immediately to this aircraft. ❓So why is it different for Airbus A220? Because the Airbus A220 was designed by Bombardier Aerospace and originally marketed as the Bombardier CSeries CS300 before it had been sold to Airbus. So it kept its original ICAO type designator. 🔎If you want to check out all information regarding Airbus A220-300 you can check out the link bellow on EUROCONTROL Aircraft Performance Database: https://lnkd.in/eYKRnxs7 🚩Swiss International Air Lines are proud users of Airbus A220 on their short-haul routes. I noticed this interesting fact this morning, during my shift Swiss made their flight from BEG - LYBE (Belgrade, Serbia) to ZRH - LSZH (Zurich, Switzerland). #icao #airbus #a220 #bombardier #airbusa220 #swiss #swissair #eurocontrol #atc #aviation

Bombardier & Gulfstream aligning with business objectives EBACE will look a little different this year with two of the heavyweights in the #businessaviation market, BOMBARDIER & Gulfstream Aerospace deciding not to exhibit at the annual show between May 28 to 30 in #Geneva. The loss of two major exhibitors at this year’s show no doubt will have an impact. There is strong support from Geneva & EUROCONTROL whom are going to be front & centre as part of the opening, talking about the importance of #business #aviation to the #economy, including places that have little or no commercial airline service. EBACE 2023 was marred when about 100 eco-#protestors cut through a #security fence & swarmed onto the static display. Seven handcuffed themselves to a Gulfstream on static display, three attached to the nose gear & four to the cabin entry door handrails. More secured themselves to other aircraft, it disrupted operations at Geneva International #Airport & caused diversions of #aircraft in the local #airspace. After the breach last year, questions arose on whether it would impact the static display. While Gulfstream & Bombardier have both opted against displaying, neither have pointed to that, at least publicly, as a reason for their respective moves. To put it straight, a good security plan will certainly go a long way! #businessjet’s are awesome! #bizjet #bizav https://lnkd.in/dNTXyAPc

The evolution of spacecraft cockpits! Managing the level of complexity of the instrument panels has always been an issue, but with the design of the Crew Dragon capsule, the use of screens to prioritise the levels of complexities has simplified the control systems to an extent! However, it does raise the question of backup systems? What happens in the event of screen failures?

We could not agree more! The Aviation Supply Chain Integrity Coalition released its report this week recommending specific actions the aerospace industry should take to help prevent future unapproved parts from entering the propulsion supply chain. Their research included interviews with more than 38 experts across the industry from 24 organizations. LocatorX was fortunate and honored to be one of the interviews during the process, providing our additional insights on what is needed to prevent the introduction of Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUPS) in the aviation propulsion supply chain. The Coalition developed 13 recommended actions detailed in the report that are summarized across three categories: ✅ Vendor Accreditation ✅ Document Traceability and Verification ✅ Non-serialized Parts Traceability ➡️ ➡️ ➡️ Read the full report here: https://bit.ly/4h02Cd0 Many thanks to the founding Coalition members that have come together to combat this extremely important issue: Airbus, American Airlines, Boeing, Delta Air Lines, GE Aerospace, Safran, StandardAero and United Airlines. #aviationsupplychain #aircraftparts #aviationmaintenance #MRO #supplychain #provenance #trackandtrace #digitalfingerprint #propolsionsupplychain #aerospace #SUPS
