Today's #ConstructionSafetyWeek theme is: "Embracing Every Voice" This means creating an environment where every team member feels valued and heard. During our on-site discussion we posed the question,"What does safety mean to you?" It was striking to note the consistency in responses, underscoring the significance of safety for those navigating hazardous conditions daily. Ultimately, everyone shares a common goal of returning safely to their families and ensuring the well-being of those around them. #PeopleFirst #Family #TeamCurran #SafetyFirst

Embracing the concept of Stop Work Authority is not just a safety measure; it's a commitment to prioritizing the well-being of every individual in the workplace. This fundamental principle empowers every employee to intervene if they witness any situation that poses a potential risk to health or safety. Organizations can proactively prevent accidents and incidents by encouraging a culture where speaking up is valued and actively promoted. Stop Work Authority serves as a crucial tool in fostering a safety-first mindset, ensuring that everyone has the right and responsibility to halt any operation that could jeopardize lives or property. It's not about hindering progress; it's about safeguarding our most valuable asset—our people. Let's champion a workplace culture where safety is paramount, and where every voice matters in keeping each other safe. #SafetyFirst #StopWorkAuthority #WorkplaceSafety

What's the Circle of Safety? We read more and more about staff disengaging. Staff quiet quitting. Just generally staff not happy in the work place. It is now one of the problems of modern work. How can we address this? As humans we function better in a group, when we cooperate and help each other. This reaches back to when we lived in tribes and had to look out for each other. It is biologically hard wired into us. This is our Circle of Safety. When we are in a cohesive and trusting group, we have created our circle of safety. We feel no threat from within the group therefore we work better together and we can be better prepared for outside threats. How do we create this circle? I intend to spend the next few posts talking about this. Let me know what you think! #workplace #coaching #circleofsafety #engagement

We're gearing up for Safety and Health at Work Day, and this year, our theme is all about culture. Why? Because culture forms the foundation of what we strive for when it comes to safety. In our industry, the term "positive safety culture" often gets thrown around, but what does it mean? At Longworth, it's about fostering an environment where every team member feels safe, heard, and empowered. When a team member raises a concern, our response is simple: "What can we do about it, together?" We believe in involving our team in finding solutions because they're the ones who truly understand the challenges on the ground. Communication is at the heart of Team Longworth. From our frontline workers to our leadership team, we encourage open dialogue. This proactive approach allows us to address issues swiftly, before they escalate. Together, we can create a workplace where safety is everyone's responsibility. #safetyculture #teamlongworth #buildingsafetytogether #empowerment #positivechange

It's the final week of National Safe Work month! And for the final week, the theme is musculoskeletal injuries and how to effectively manage the risk of harm. Whether you're out in the field, in a workshop, or at a desk for most of the day, it's easy to overlook some of the critical fundamentals in ensuring you don't injure yourself immediately or slowly over time. National Safe Work month has been a great opportunity to spread awareness of safe work practices and help further embed safety within workplace culture. Stay safe out there and hopefully we've encouraged you, too, to channel your inner forklift 😄 #WHS #SafetyIsOurBusiness #SafeWorkMonth
