Join Me in the Fight Against Cancer! Starting on the first of October, I’ll be taking on a challenge to do 100 push-ups a day to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. 💪 Why? Because cancer is a battle too many people face, and we need to make sure everyone has the tools for early detection and the best possible treatment. Early detection saves lives. It's the key to increasing survival rates, as catching cancer early means more treatment options and better outcomes. Regular exercise like the push-ups I’ll be doing can help reduce cancer risk, improve mental well-being, and promote overall health. It’s just one small way we can take control of our own health. I’m challenging myself to raise £150 for cancer research, and I’d love your support! Wearing pink shows solidarity with those affected and sparks conversations about the cause. Volunteer: Many organizations offer ways to get involved, whether through local events, fundraising walks, or offering time to help patients and their families.

Standing Together: Raising Awareness and Funds for Breast Cancer 🎗️ Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, affecting over 55,000 women and 370 men each year. With 1 in 7 women diagnosed in their lifetime, raising awareness and supporting life-saving research has never been more critical. Early detection and treatment can save lives, but more needs to be done to fund innovative research and offer vital support to those impacted. At Get Licensed, we’re stepping up. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month - an internationally recognised month where the childhood cancer community comes together, and everyone is encouraged to show their support for the children, young people and families who have been affected by childhood cancer. This year, the focus is on the importance of research in creating better futures for children with cancer. In 1977, when Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) (the charity we raise funds for) was first founded, childhood cancer survival rates were around 2 in 10. Today, survival rates are around 8 in 10. This amazing progress is driven by research. Research has led not only to more effective treatments, but kinder treatments that have fewer harsh side effects and long-term effects. Money raised for Ruby’s fund is already being put to work on vital research - & this month, we have 14 amazing fundraisers taking part in events to raise money for Ruby’s fund so we can continue to support further research. During this month we’ll also be sharing information about signs and symptoms of cancer in children and young people - and we’d love it if you could help spread the word. Spotlight on Fork Cancer Tastemaker: Ciana Costner Meet Ciana C., one of our dedicated Fork Cancer Tastemakers. At the American Cancer Society, our mission helps bring financial resources to patients in underserved communities in Colorado who cannot afford to get screened for cancer. Early detection of cancer cells in beginning stages and preventative efforts to maintain health can save lives. Unfortunately, survivorship comes at a cost, physically and financially altering the lifestyle of so many affected by cancer. This time next week, I and the team (when nearly all of them), at Douglas Jackson will be joining Spin on the Square* and WE NEED YOUR HELP to raise even more money for Children with Cancer UK 🧡💜, because if we can we should. (the pictures were taken from a similar event last year.) We are delighted to be supporting Dawn & Sharon – aka the LEJoG Sisters – and help support them in this fundraising event. Myself, Holly Beeston, John Montgomery, Perry Fletcher, Mark Larner, Robin Wain will join Ian Covey and lots of other big-hearted bikers to donate 1 hour of our time on Wednesday 1st May to jump on a spin bike on Lichfield's Market Square, Visit Lichfield Lichfield District Council so that we can collectively spin the length of the country in a day. Spin on the Square – and all of the LEJoG Sisters fundraising – is inspired by the memory of Dawn’s son, Christopher, who died of an inoperable brain tumour at the tender age of six. Thankfully brain tumours in children are relatively rare – even so, every month in the UK more than 30 children are diagnosed with a brain tumour. Turning their lives completely upside down. Children with Cancer UK are there for them. Providing essential support to families and funding the research needed to find kinder, more effective treatments. It’s thanks, in part, to Children with Cancer UK’s work over the past 35 years, advances of in detection, treatment and care mean that 74% of children with brain tumours now survive for 5 years or more.
