💥New: whiskey from Rebel, Ezra Brooks and Lux Row!💥 We love good American #whiskey! We are all the more pleased to announce three exciting new additions to our range: with immediate effect, we are taking over the distribution of Rebel, Ezra Brooks and Lux Row whiskeys in Germany. The Rebel brand pioneered the production of bourbon with a high wheat content in 1849, bucking the trend towards bourbons with a high rye content. All bourbons have a wheated mash bill that has remained unchanged since 1849: the recipe is based on 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley. The wide selection of Rebel Bourbons, including exciting cask finishes and even a #Rye Whiskey, is now available at Perola! 🙌 Ezra Brooks offers easy to enjoy, round drops that get their smooth mouthfeel from being charcoal filtered, making them wonderful for straight drinking or as a smooth base for drinks 🥃 The Lux Row Four Grain #Bourbon Whiskey is a blend of two single barrels based on wheat, rye, corn and malted barley. A complex whiskey for sipping!

Jack Daniel’s is often mistaken for a bourbon, but it actually classifies as Tennessee whiskey, and the Lincoln County Process is what truly sets it apart. While both bourbon and Tennessee whiskey must be made from at least 51% corn and aged in new, charred oak barrels, the Lincoln County Process is what makes Jack Daniel’s uniquely different. So, what is the Lincoln County Process? This step involves filtering the whiskey through charcoal—specifically sugar maple charcoal—before it goes into barrels for aging. This extra process, legally required for Tennessee whiskey, removes impurities and mellows the whiskey, giving Jack Daniel’s its signature smoothness. While bourbon and Tennessee whiskey are similar in many ways, it’s this charcoal mellowing process that distinguishes Jack Daniel’s and other Tennessee whiskeys. Additionally, bourbon can be made anywhere in the USA, but Tennessee whiskey must be made in Tennessee. It’s not just a technical difference—it’s a tradition that defines Tennessee whiskey, making Jack Daniel’s a unique expression in the world of American whiskey. #JackDaniels #TennesseeWhiskey #LincolnCountyProcess #BourbonVsTennessee #WhiskeyEducation #TheDramClub #SpiritsIndustry

Difference between Irish and Scotch whisky? While some claim there's no significant difference, the unique production methods, distinct flavors, and even the spelling tell another story. Here are the key differences between them! 1. Irish whiskey must be crafted in Ireland, and Scotch whisky must come from Scotland. Both require a minimum of three years of aging, 2. Most Irish whiskeys, such as Jameson, are triple-distilled for a smoother, lighter taste. In contrast, Scotch whisky, like Glenfiddich, is usually distilled twice, resulting in a richer, more robust flavor. 3. Irish whiskey often includes unmalted barley, as in Redbreast, which adds a creamy texture. Scotch, on the other hand, emphasizes malted barley, and can be smoky if peated, like Laphroaig. Irish whiskey may age in various wood types, not limited to oak, allowing for diverse flavor profiles. Scotch, however, is aged exclusively in oak casks, contributing to its more classic woody notes. So, which do you prefer-smooth Irish or bold Scotch? Let me know in the comments! Cheers! #sonalholland #masterofwine #scotch #irish #whiskey #whisky #whiskyenthusiasts #whiskylovers

Whiskey Wizards and Alligator Char: A Match Made in Barrel Heaven? Ever wondered what makes your whiskey taste so magical? Well, I might just have a nugget of wisdom to share. I've been reading about the craft behind the barrels at distilleries like Castle & Key and Bardstown Bourbon Company that use a #4 alligator char. Now, that might sound like something straight out of a swampy fairy tale, but it's actually the secret sauce—or should I say char? It's a super-charred barrel that gives whiskey its kick and deep flavor. Did you know that "alligator" refers to the roughness of the char on the wood, likening it to alligator skin? Pretty cool, huh? But here's the scoop from my corner: Not all whiskey needs to wrestle with an alligator to be superb. At Supergay Spirits, we believe in the flair each spirit brings to the table without needing the heaviest char. This aligns with our value of highlighting every spirit's unique character—just like we celebrate every individual's uniqueness. So, while those gator-level chars create bold flavors, remember, there's room for every style in the grand distillery of life. And always keep it super, never shy. 🌈✨ If you've got a thirst for more whiskey wisdom, take a peek at the article: [Article link]https://buff.ly/3z6JVTf Spirits Co. Barrel Aging: The Secret Ingredient Behind Exceptional Beer 🍻🛢️ Happy Barrel Aged Beer Day! If you’re like us, barrel aging is one of those processes that feels like pure magic. It’s not just about storing beer in barrels; it’s about what happens when the beer and the wood get to know each other over time. Tannins, vanilla, oak, and even hints of what came before—bourbon, wine—you can taste it all in the final pour. The barrels aren't just flavour contributors; they’re part of the journey. The aging allows the beer to mature, mellow, and become something truly special—something that you can't rush or replicate. It’s what gives a barrel-aged beer its depth and makes every glass a unique experience. This Barrel Aged Beer Day, we’re inviting everyone to explore the flavours that only patience, craftsmanship, and great barrels can deliver. We even have two new barrel-aged bundles joining the line-up. Want to chat about the magic of barrel aging? Drop a comment below—let's share the passion. 🍺 Want to explore more? Our 7th release is from...(drumroll please)...Westward Whiskey What a cask! Limited to just 396 bottles, it's the perfect summertime whiskey - full of juicy passion fruit notes - and is available here: https://lnkd.in/gtsJYhWQ If you’ve not seen Westward Whiskey before, it’s one to add to your radar. Hailing from the American Northwest, an area rich with barley, Westward in Portland, Oregon, crafts an incredibly fruit-forward style of whiskey, and is at the forefront of the American Single Malt Whiskey movement. We always have a bottle of their Pinot Noir cask on our home bar, so picking our Heart Cut cask alongside Miles Munroe, Master Blender, was an absolute dream. As soon as we tasted this cask we knew it was the one. A quick one on American Single Malt Whiskey. In 2016, Westward helped create the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission to establish, promote, and protect the growing category and its legacy. These guidelines are currently waiting for government ratification - in the hope that they become written into law in the not-too-distant future. It's a very exciting and pivotal moment for the category - turning history on its head, craft distillers are setting the rules, and the bigger whiskey companies are following—not the other way around. ONE TO WATCH! Have you tried Westward before? If so, we'd love to know. Cheers! 🥃 #whisky #whiskey #americansinglemaltwhiskey

Thought I'd share my IB buys this week. All Speyside single malts, but all quite incredibly different on the eye; from the bottle type, label shape, colour and font, the actual liquid colours, and finally the information shared on cask information etc. The Mortlach 14 from Hart Brothers Ltd in Glasgow, is a 2012 bottling, distilled in 1997. Bottled at 46% ABV, there isn't much information on the bottle, other than the guarantee that they "personally check every cask, to ensure that nothing compromises their enduring spirit of excellence". Can't really argue with that. It's definitely the most traditional looking bottle and label style, quite classy and classic I'd say. The Uncharted Whisky Co. bottling "Fools Gold" is a Tamnavulin 11, named after the classic Stone Roses song (one of my faves). Distilled in 2013, it was bottled this year at 50% ABV, with an outturn of only 195 bottles from a single bourbon barrel, specifically for the Spirit of Speyside Festival 2024. Nothing to fault here, I personally love everything about the UW Co's bottlings. Finally we have the rather impressive and statuesque Linkwood 12, from Finn Thomson and Finn Thomson Whisky. I was recommended to source a bottle by a friend who was blown away by tasting it, he said that he "couldnt believe it wasn't an 18". If you want to talk about attention to detail, style and quality? Well these bottlings scream all of that, and plenty more. Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2022, at 55.5% ABV with an outturn of 300 bottles, from a First Fill Bourbon. This one really is quite a colour.. As I sit and admire them, the hardest part is to choose which one to dram? Slainte🥃 #whiskydream #whiskylife #whiskylover

We all know the feeling - cracking open an ice cold beer on a hot summer day is one of life's simple pleasures. But have you ever wondered why beer just tastes better when it's chilled to perfection? 🤔 It turns out there's some fascinating science behind this phenomenon! 🧪 When beer is served at lower temperatures, it enhances certain qualities that make it extra refreshing and thirst-quenching: •Bitterness from hops is amplified, creating a more pronounced hoppy flavor 🌿 •Carbonation is more pronounced, giving the beer a crisper, more effervescent mouthfeel 🥤 •The beer appears more clear and bright 🍺 However, serving beer too cold can actually dull some of its best flavors and aromas. The cold temperatures slow the release of aromatic compounds, making the beer taste thin and one-dimensional. 🤢 So what's the ideal serving temperature for beer? Most experts recommend chilling lagers and light ales to around 38-45°F, while darker, more complex beers like stouts and porters taste best a bit warmer, around 45-55°F. 🌡️ The next time you reach for a cold one, remember - the perfect beer is just a few degrees away! 🍻 #BeerScience #ChilledPerfection #beersofinstagram #beergarden #beertography #beerstagram #beerlovers #beer #craftbrewing #malt #craftbeer #brewing #dvkspimpex #brewers #brewery #brewer #brewerytap #brewerylife #hops #india #DVKSP #craftbeerindia #indiancraftbeer
