Very excited to share our new report that maps far-right terrorist propaganda across online platforms. The report provides analysis of an extensive dataset of URLs (around 3000) that our team has identified, verified and alerted to tech platforms since early 2021.
- This data allows us to understand which platforms are being exploited, by which terrorist entities, and crucially how effectively platforms are responding.
- We also highlight the key trends and methods in how online users disseminate this content with content moderation evasion tactics such as gamification enabling this propaganda to reach large audiences on social media.
- We also assess how Generative AI will likely bolster the ability of extremist actors to create propaganda in ways that compound the challenges for tech companies using automated detection systems.
- Finally, we provide recommendations for platforms to better understand what far-right terrorist content is, how to identify it, and their legal obligations to tackle it.
