Collaborating for a Sustainable Future: Youth-Led Organizations Unite for Common Goals: In a significant step toward achieving global sustainable development, three youth-led organizations—Africa Climate and Environment Foundation (ACEF), PESAID, and Youth Pawa—recently held a collaborative session at a Diani hotel. During the session, the leaders from each organization identified key areas for partnership, focusing on their shared objectives of eradicating poverty, reducing inequality, and promoting environmental sustainability. This collaboration is a powerful example of how partnerships, in line with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, can drive meaningful progress. By combining resources, expertise, and passion, these organizations are working to build a more inclusive, equal, and sustainable future for all. At PESAID, we are excited about the synergies that will arise from this collaboration and remain committed to the shared vision of zero poverty, reduced inequality, and environmental conservation. #PartnershipsForGoals #YouthLeadership #ZeroPoverty #Sustainability #SDG17 #PESAID #ClimateAction

One of the Guelph Community Foundation’s leading frameworks for funding decision-making is the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)! Established in 2015, these 17 goals target a wide range of areas in development including environmental protections, human rights, health, economic opportunity, education, and sustainability. The United Nations defines the Sustainable Development Goals as “a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere.” The framework called for the achievement of these goals by 2030, and the United Nations monitors progress in each SDG year-by-year. As these wide-reaching goals stretch across many parts of society, the SDGs are meant to be accomplished in collaboration between various stakeholders, from inter-governmental organizations to civil society. ADOPTING AND ACHIEVING UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN YOUR COUNTRY. Adopting and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in my country involves a multifaceted approach. It requires collaboration between government, private sector, and civil society to address issues such as poverty, inequality, education, and climate change. The government must implement policies and allocate resources effectively, while businesses and non-profits contribute through sustainable practices and community programs. Public awareness and engagement are crucial, ensuring that citizens understand and support these goals. Monitoring progress with reliable data and making necessary adjustments will help ensure that the country stays on track to meet the SDGs by the target year, 2030. WAYS TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS 1, Educate and raise awareness 2, Empower women and girls 3, Promote sustainable transportation 4, Support sustainable agriculture #tebebaschoolofwritingchallenge

With current progress falling far short of what is required to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, this year’s High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development on 8 to 18 July at UN Headquarters in New York will be critical to turbocharging efforts to accelerate SDG implementation in the remaining six years. Under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Forum is the main platform for reviewing the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. This year, the Forum will convene under the theme of “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”. Five SDGs will be reviewed in depth: Goal 1: No poverty Goal 2: Zero hunger Goal 13: Climate action Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals The forum will include a three-day ministerial segment from 15 July to 17 July, with the last day of the High-Level Segment of ECOSOC being held on 18 July.
