My Dear Friends and Colleagues, Well, the "secret" is out. I have completed my research appointment with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and now starting a new research group at Clemson University. I have had the privilege to interact with so many excellent scientists at ORNL over the years, and was fortunate to make several contributions to the fields of low-dimensional ferroelectric materials and new atomic-scale measurement techniques that resonated with the community at large. I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to all of my colleagues, mentors, sponsors and collaborators - without whom the scientific journey would be very lonely to say the least, if not altogether impossible. Now the time has come to open a new chapter. I have always wanted to try my hand in the academic setting. After all, when I first came to the US in 2001, it was the research lab led by Prof. John T. Yates, Jr. at the University of Pittsburgh that gave me the first opportunity to experience the joy of discovery and deeply inspired me to pursue scientific paradigm. Now, with the foundation learnt over the years, I will aspire to proverbially "carry the torch forward" - creating an environment where cutting edge research techniques of microscopy, information and modeling can be directed by young aspiring researchers to reveal the hidden secrets of advanced materials and to enable all the beatiful and sometimes extreme phenomenology of the nanoscale to impact the development of future adaptive, cognitive and eventually autonomous material systems. I look forward to many new experiences and challenges and will count on continued and growing interactions with so many of you in the new endeavors!!
Congrats, Petro! All the best.
Congratulations! And welcome to Clemson! 😊
Congrats with the new role and good luck in this new academic endeavour !
Congratulations! Good luck on your new adventure!
Congratulations Petro! Good luck in Clemson, looking forward to seeing all the exciting work from your new group!
Molodchina, Petya!! Proud of you.
Congratulations! With your experience and knowledge you will grow a new generation of curious minds. Way to go. Congrats to Clemson U. as well.
Congrats, and wishing you all the best in this new endeavor! 🎉
Congrats! Lets keep in touch and think about collaborative research projects.
