The workshop is part of the Central African Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (CACAIS) 2024 conference that will take place June 6-8, 2024 (Hybrid). Learn how to develop innovation with impact…via the Foresight Driven Innovation course run by the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies where we discuss leveraging foresight / strategy / innovation / risk, in order to explore for potential outcomes. #CIFS believe in encouraging an inspiring Now-Next-Why culture that combines an understanding of emerging trends with exploring the future(s) to highlight ‘friction and opportunity’ spaces for adaptation and growth. Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending an event at the Nova School of Business and Economics hosted by the Nova SBE Innovation Ecosystem, "Innovation Circles," which focused on discussing innovation within companies. I had a great opportunity to meet and learn from extraordinary innovation experts like guest Pinar Kose Kulacz and facilitator Rui Coutinho. Also, a special shout-out to the best round table in the room, Tiago Gaspar Sampaio and Cátia Ribeiro, great to meet you and learn from your experiences. During the event, we touched on various topics, sharing valuable experiences and practices supporting or hindering innovation. One particular focus was on the "Innovation Killers" that can impede progress, such as the restricted association of innovation with a specific group within the organization rather than integrating it into the overall business strategy. We also discussed the impact of factors like silo mentality, lack of top management support, poor communication, resistance to change, and the need for a long-term focus over short-term gains. Once more, I had a powerful reminder that each of us has a part to play in driving innovation forward. Let's make it happen. #innoavation #corporateinnovation #innovationmanagement

I Think that corporates and startups should invest time in aligning their expectations and objectives. Corporates should understand that startups often prioritize market access over funding, while startups should recognize that corporates seek both internal improvements and new offerings for customers. A thorough onboarding process that fosters clear communication of needs and goals can prevent misalignments.
