And that’s a wrap! Helping others, volunteering our time and energy and donating money to causes we care deeply about is intrinsic to so many kiwis. The 12 Days of Giving Campaign has shined a light on many amazing ways we are already giving to each other, and we are so proud to have been able to do so. We want to thank all of the fantastic people and organisations that gave of their time and aroha to make this campaign a success. We also want to acknowledge the hundreds of thousands of people who give back every week, just because they know it’s the right thing to do. You make our country such a wonderful place to be. So, stay safe these holidays, enjoy your time with loved ones and watch this space in 2025 as we continue to showcase how giving is at the very core of Aotearoa New Zealand. Local charities have until the end of this month (November) to pitch to become a partner with local care provider Parklands Care Homes. The partnerships will see Parklands dedicate its fundraising efforts within its care homes to support the chosen causes throughout 2025, and potentially beyond. Employees will also have opportunities to engage through volunteering and mentoring, while partner charities will be encouraged to take part in activities across Parklands’ 12 care homes. Eligible charities must either be locally registered or have a significant presence in the area. Parklands’ employees will have the final say in selecting the partner charities. The deadline for applications has been extended until Friday 29 November. For more information, please visit https://lnkd.in/etNS2aVe #TogetherWeGrow

Did you know Food Forward has a win-win-win business model? That means our organization is a win for the community, a win for the environment, and a win for the produce industry! And at the same time, we manage to keep our operations financially efficient. In 2023 we kept our cost to recover and distribute produce at approximately $.07/lb and returned a social impact value of $168 million to communities across the region. Check out the 2023 Annual Impact Report to see how we did it all! https://bit.ly/44ImvQ1 #BuildingGenerationalHealth #sharetheabundance #giveback #foodforward #foodwaste #zerowaste #cultivate #community #volunteer #donate #nonprofit #fundraising #communityengagement #foodjustice #dogood #makeadifference #foodrecovery #donation #instagood #bethechange #kindness #joyfulness #giving #foodinsecurity #communityfirst #helpothers #losangeles #california

The only thing more satisfying than applying a RAPAID sticker perfectly straight and without a single air bubble is knowing that a passer by seeing that sticker could save a life! 🙌🏽 The RAPAID stickers in the front and back windows of a cab are a really important part of each installation because they enable members of the public or emergency services to identify which cabs are carrying a RAPAID emergency bandages kit. Don’t forget, if you see one, help is at hand, and the driver has agreed to be part of our campaign. 🤩 We always love to see pictures of cabs you’ve spotted with our kits, so if you do see one, take a snap, share it, and tag us📸 – spreading the word is a great way to help our cause.🙏🏽 #emergencybandages #bleedkits #stopthebleed #charity #fundraising #donate #rapaid

During our last community kitchen event, something remarkable happened. As we were distributing meals, we unexpectedly ran out of takeaway packs. Rushing to a nearby store to get more, we met Olamilekan a food vendor. Instead of accepting payment, Olamilekan chose to donate the packs to us. He was deeply moved by our efforts, something he had never seen in his community before, and wanted to be a part of it. Even if he was selling food , he didn’t feel uncomfortable about us giving out food around him. We salute Olamilekan’s generosity and his willingness to support his community. Now, imagine a world filled with more people like Olamilekan—where sharing and giving back are the norms, and everyone has enough to eat. This vision is within our reach, but it starts with each of us. Be like Olamilekan. Donate today, and together, we can make this a reality. #foodcliquesupport #sdg2030 #zerohunger #sdg2 #hungerheroes #endinghunger #foodsystem #charity #donation #socialimpact

Some good advice from Sarah Mason for funders and and recipient charities about the need to trust charities with unrestricted funding. 👀⬇️ I have seen many funding arrangements over the last 30 years, some good, some bad. In the best funding relationships: *funders and charities are clear about what the funding is for, expected outcomes and anticipated impact *funders trust charities to know on what, how and when to spend the funding to deliver outcomes and impact *funders understand if some outcomes aren't achieved for good reasons *charities designate the funding to ensure it is used for the purposes for which it is given *charities tell funders about the difference the funding has made, they sing about outcomes and impact. *charities can explain why outcomes or impacts haven't materialised and what can to be done about that Less impactful funding relationships are complex, include too many controls and end up in the hands of lawyers (like me in previous chapters) unpicking unnecessary restrictions which didn't need to be there in the first place. Now, more than ever, charities need flexible funding. #charities #charitytrustees #charityfunding

“If you want to maximise impact with your donations - support charities who know what they are doing and leave them to decide what to do with your donation.” says Julia Davies in her support of Greenpeace with #unrestricted funding. In my view, this is the most important piece of advice that funders can listen to & act on. Many charities stand on a precipice, with so many closing, leaving their work & impact in tatters. Unrestricted donations are vital for survival. Funders, please trust charities to spend your money well. Thank you 💚 #funding #charities #social #impact #nature #environment #heritage
