A Truly Inspiring Academic Kick-Off at Ichec Brussels Management School: Preparing for Tomorrow’s Challenges 🚀 Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the academic opening at ICHEC, and it was nothing short of inspiring. ICHEC is committed to rethinking its curriculum to address the challenges of tomorrow, and this event laid the foundation for an exciting year ahead. 🎓 One of the most impactful moments was hearing former Belgian Prime Minister, Sophie Wilmès, share her perspective on the reawakening of Europe. 🇪🇺 Her speech was a powerful blend of realism and hope—acknowledging the complex issues we face, but ultimately reinforcing a message of optimism for Europe’s future. Following her keynote, I had the rare opportunity to engage in a one-on-one conversation with Ms. Wilmès. I asked her a challenging question: "By refusing dialogue with political extremes, are we not empowering them further?" 🤔 Her response was as insightful as it was nuanced. She agreed that dialogue is necessary, but made it clear that negotiating with extremes is a line we cannot cross. To tackle these forces, she explained that politics must be rooted in common sense, with leaders unafraid to confront uncomfortable truths and describe reality exactly as it is. This exchange was incredibly thought-provoking and timely, especially considering the current state of our societies and the political landscape. 💡 A big thank you to ICHEC for organizing such meaningful events that foster intellectual growth, critical thinking, and provide opportunities to engage with key thought leaders. 🙏

Yes, the days are long, and the work is intense, but seeing students grow so quickly in their first few weeks at CIMBA is the ultimate reward. It’s proof that what we do here has a real, lasting impact. Today, a group of former MBA students dropped by while they were in the country, and it was such a heartwarming reunion! Our staff immediately remembered their names, and the alums not only remembered us but also wanted to hear all about our families and updates on life. One even asked about his old neighbors from the MBA house! There’s a special bond that forms here, between students and staff alike. Maybe it’s the people, maybe it’s the place—or maybe it’s something in that cool, sparkling mountain water. I can’t wait to come back. The other post ⚡ Always a rollercoaster of emotions, these graduations. 🌞 Happiness, among students who received their diplomas and catch up with each other after a long summer. 🌟 Pride, among mamas, papas, and grandparents (and mamme, papa, oma’s, opa’s, nonne e nonni,…). 💧 Some sadness, because a great year has truly come to an end. 🌈 And some fear, because the future feels uncertain. As educators, it feels like all we do is plant tiny seeds, showing students where to find the water and the watering can. Then, the magic happens! It’s hard to explain, but probably self-selection into the program helps, along with a sweet balance of shared values and diverse backgrounds. 🔹 To employers: a group of creative minds and beautiful souls is ready to rock.
