This deep dive into the GCC and the beauty industry written by Sujata Assomull shows the importance of the MENA markets. "The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) markets are currently valued at a combined $46 billion and are expected to reach $60 billion by 2025, according to figures from Euromonitor, cited in the report — with countries in the Gulf at the forefront of growth. (The Gulf Cooperation Council, or GCC, is a subset of the Middle East, which includes the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar, and is known to be the primary driver of economic growth and innovation within the region.) Behind this growth is a long tradition of beauty rituals; many women in the Gulf take pride in grooming as part of their daily routine."
