The Superyacht Captains Forum Day 2 Programme Highlight in partnership with Yare Networking… The Captains Brainstorms taking place from 14:30-16:00 will consist of 4 Brainstorms that will invite companies, partners and experts to join each room and participate in a Focus Group/Brainstorm that is designed to answer each of the following questions: People - How do we attract and retain better people? Projects - How do we plan and manage better refit projects? Process - How do we create a batter tendering and contract process in refit? Planet - How do we reduce our impact by future-proofing the fleet? Question 1 is designed to discuss and explore, joined-up strategies for the industry to develop models, outreach programmes and a clear opportunity to engage the next generation and the right people to join the industry, both on board and in our companies. Question 2 will focus on the growth in the refit sector, not only due to the market’s growth but also the demand for rebuilding and repurposing the current fleet, applying future-proof technologies and smart ideas. This will put a huge strain on the refit infrastructure and shipyard supply chain, so we need to explore a better way to plan and allocate resources and shipyard capacity. Question 3 will discuss the issue of intelligent comparisons of tendering refit projects and getting the project to contract and then delivered on time according to the contract. Question 4 will look at the fleet of existing yachts and yachts currently in build that are still applying conventional energy sources and have high fossil fuel dependency.
