For centuries since the destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans in 70 CE, we the Jewish people have been persecuted, discriminated, vilified and tormented by almost every dictator, ruler and nation on earth. As a result, we have always been forced to flee to foreign lands. And the reality is that these sentiments hasn’t changed an iota in centuries. Despite being foreigners in these lands, we have managed to survive and even thrive whether it be in medicine, the sciences, economics, technology and more as well as supporting our communities and the economies in which we have been welcome, albeit, with strings attached. Nevertheless, we will always be foreigners and we will always be subject to an obsessive hatred we may never truly understand. And then we agreed to the Partition Plan in 1947 and finally came back home. Over these very turbulent 75 years, we have miraculously transformed this once desolate and baron land into a thriving economy, a tech powerhouse and ironically, one of the happiness places on earth to live. 👉 https://lnkd.in/d_xXc_Sw No wonder so many are jealous of us and our incredible achievements in such a short period of time. Hundreds of millions of people are today blessed with our many contributions to the world, including some of the most advanced and finest innovations, which many of you benefit greatly from every day. 300 days since October 7th. 300 days of captivity. 300 days of darkness and waiting and praying. So many lives lost, so many families mourning. 300 days of watching the world spin out of control. Of realizing humanity isn't where it claims to be. 300 days of understanding that antisemitism didn't die in Europe. 300 days of tens of thousands of rockets being fired towards Israeli civilians and ignored by the media. 300 days of the bravest and most moral army defending Israels right to exist. But, the light still shines in the darkness. These were also 300 days of recognizing how interconnected we are. How the Jewish nation came together no matter their religious backgrounds or political beliefs. 300 days of love, of caring, of showing up for each other, and of unity. 300 days of prayer and hope. 300 days where God is very much present and bringing clarity to the world. We've learned who our non-Jewish real friends are, and who were just wearing masks of kindness. 300 days of seeing the best and worst of humanity. Of God hoping and waiting that all of humanity will choose life and create space for all of His light to shine in this world. I invite all of us to do something today that will bring more light into the world. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture or cost anything. It could be as simple as smiling to a stranger or choosing to stay calm instead of lashing out when you feel frustrated with your partner. You don't have to be a believer to see where I'm going with this… but if you are I am challenging you guys here, for sure. Christ cares less about your politics. Neither did his teachings. He clearly separated church from state and so did the founders of the country. He knew humans had to navigate the cultural, social; and political changes in life; but he also knew God will always be God. When baited into political discussion or religious tradition, he always brought it back to his mission. (Luke 13: 14, Matthey 12: 9-13) Subject - Christ challenged for healing on the Sabbath God does not need us to do anything for him but acknowledge and accept him then be guided in his steps, as we choose. Just in case you political evangelicals are ready to pounce; (Matthew 22, Mark 12, Luke 20) Subject - Paying taxes to the Govt. I'll take it one step further. He submitted to a governments decision that ended his life. Everytime, historically, segments of society attach a charismatic human in a divine light we lose something inside ourselves or we lose in physical casualty at some point. Christ once challenged a very wealthy man to give his possessions to follow him, when asked what it would take to be inherit heaven. That wealthy man could not handle that response and walked away. (Mark 10: 17-31). It was never meant for us to be this lazy and easily misled. Keep your religion in your personal walk, do not let it blind your politics. We all have to live here. #2024trends
