Increasing investments and fostering collaboration at global scale are essential for advancing European deep tech. Quo vadis, business? In times of economic crisis, corporations tend to fall back into old patterns of command and control, of micromanagement, of downsizing, of focusing on cost-cutting, short-term profits - too often without engaging their most important asset: people. It is not too surprising that globally only 14% of the workforce is actively engaged. Sadly, this number hasn't really changed over the last two decades. I call it myopia at its best. What does it take to engage people in business, in change, in transformation? Why do we still cling on to old concepts of "Human Resources"? What can we learn from Gen Z which is more interested in purpose-driven business than previous generations? And, where and how can we start transforming business making it more human?
