The WA plays a key role in setting industry standards for safety, skills development, and best practices within the workboat industry. During our discussions with Kerrie Forster, CEO, we saw that the WA is an extremely positive organisation, with an enthusiastic and output-driven membership. We look forward to engaging with its >200 members on the development of education and training of workboat crew and thereby working on a safe and engaging environment. #polestarpublishing #maritime #workboat #workboats #workboatassociation

Productivity... some of you may know that I use a motorbike for business travel. Though this is not for everyone, it does save so much time compared to travelling by car (filtering through miles of stop/start traffic on the motorway as a perfect example). Then there's the cost saving - between £5-10K a year, based on 20,000 miles pa. Also, riding a bike stops you playing with your smartphone (it's amazing how many people I see staring into their lap as I ride past them). And finally...the fun! Yes, it is more dangerous than driving but that's where advanced rider training comes in - see RoSPA and IAM Roadsmart for details (website links below). I'm a volunteer advanced rider tutor for RoSPA so if you'd like details please get in touch. Finally, it's so much more fun! https://lnkd.in/dTqS49FW https://lnkd.in/dfsmqdjw

When you're on a long ride and the road suddenly ends, off-roading skills become essential. Touring riders often face unexpected rough paths, gravel, or dirt roads, making it crucial to know how to handle different terrains. An off-roading course teaches you how to ride confidently on unpredictable surfaces, making you a more prepared and adaptable rider. Even if you're used to highways, these skills ensure you're ready for any challenge. By embracing off-roading, you open up new possibilities to explore places beyond the usual routes. The adventure truly begins when the road ends! #asterideapp #asteride #connectplanride #offroad #explore #twowheel

RALLY RECAP: DAY 10, Rovaniemi, Finland area, pushing hard to get to Helsinki We're ahead of the rally and used one of the Superlative Adventure Club GmbH rally "motorway jokers" to help us get there quicker. DAY 10 QUICK STATS: •14 hours, 33 minutes •838 kilometers, 571 miles •3 charges •Still in Finland (5 of 9 countries) •Karaoke until 4:30am! Helsinki is Finland's largest city, a place we've always wanted to visit. So, when we knew we were within its grasp, we charged ahead and pummeled through nearly 600 electrified miles with our Volkswagen ID. Buzz Pro to make it happen. Our goal was to have one non-driving day to explore this modern Finnish city. And that, we did. 🇫🇮 We technically finished our rally day at 9:35pm and unloaded everything at an Airbnb (one of only two of the entire rally for us). We got word there were a few teams nearby who found a local karaoke bar, ready to fulfill the Task of the Day: Adventurer Song Contest Finland. The goal of this challenge was to sing alongside local Finns, who are crazy about the sport. We headed out for what was to have been one beer and a few songs, and it turned into a night of total fun with several languages spoken, a few drinks had, and lots of laughs together. We left the bar when they closed early in the morning. It was a night to remember. The next day will be a walking tour of Helsinki and another rally task that's a bit off-the-wall. But, when in Rome, er, Helsinki, you make it happen. #VW #volkswagen #VWIDBuzz #BuzzEV #electricvehicles #rally #roadrally #freelancer #freelancwriter #autojournolife #automotivejournalist #freelancejournalist #journalist #crankshaftculture #balticseacirclerally #2024balticseacirclerally Volkswagen of America, Inc Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Crankshaft Culture
