Port of Los Angeles’ Post

The City of Los Angeles’ Targeted Local Hire and Bridge To Jobs programs seek to recruit individuals from vulnerable, underserved populations. For the Port of Los Angeles specifically, these populations are largely from the Harbor area. Through these programs, successful completion of on-the-job training and the probationary period leads to civil service employment.   In partnership with the Personnel Department, the Harbor Department today held a hiring event to provide an expedited opportunity for the Port to hire within these programs for classifications including Administrative Clerk, Communications Information Representative, Custodian, Field Engineering Aide, Gardener Caretaker, Maintenance Laborer, and Security Officer. During the hiring event, at least 10 candidates were selected for Port positions. To learn more about these programs and future opportunities, visit https://lnkd.in/gYcgvzP9.

Such an inspiring initiative from the Port of Los Angeles! Empowering vulnerable and underserved populations through targeted hiring programs not only strengthens the community but also builds a more inclusive workforce. 👏
