It was about transforming theoretical knowledge into real-world innovation that could move the needle on our global energy transition. At Hanley Energy, I've been able to translate years of research into practical energy management solutions. But the real journey has been understanding how we can drive meaningful change in the energy sector. Three moments that crystallized my perspective this year: 1. Waste to Energy Breakthrough Visiting the Indaver Ireland & UK plant showed me how far emission control has come. "One surprising fact about the plant was its low emission level due to the advanced emission control technologies used." IFTP Ireland Design Competition Pushing beyond comfort zones taught me that innovation happens at the edges of our expertise. "This taught me a new lesson about pushing beyond your limits and believing in yourself." Critical Climate Conversations Discussing carbon tax strategies revealed the complexity of our climate challenge. "Countries worldwide are racing to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. We are thrilled to announce that Progress Eco S.A. has received an ecological credit under Action 3.01 of the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021-2027, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund 🌍. The project, titled “Improving Energy Efficiency through Thermomodernization and Infrastructure Modernization Leading to a Fundamental Change in Processes at Progress Eco S.A.,” is supported by Funding Agreement No. FENG.03.01-IP.03-0107/23-00. This project aims to transform our operations through advanced thermal and infrastructure modernisation in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship 💚 🌳 ♻. Key objectives include: - Reducing energy consumption in our production facility - Cutting electricity usage by replacing inefficient equipment - Significantly changing our technological processes - Increasing the use of renewable energy sources - Achieving a 54.57% reduction in primary energy consumption PROJECT TASKS: - Insulating external walls and roof - Replacing old windows with new ones - Installing renewable energy systems - Upgrading to energy-efficient equipment As the beneficiary of this project, Progress Eco S.A. will decrease its carbon footprint, lower energy consumption, and reduce costs associated with electricity and heating. Indirectly, the local community will benefit from improved air quality.
