Warning from CNBC like CEO: We do not accept content from sources of stolen work, which have been requested out-of-court. As Josef Anger, CEO, owner, and board member of CNBC, I issue an important statement warning against illegal content sources. Such as analogue tabloid valueless media. Like Anger cautions that CNBC will refuse to collaborate with media outlets accused of out-of-court of work and subsequent content reworking. This practice is illegal and can result in up to ten years of imprisonment and high fines, violating Know-How. In the statement as CEO of CNBC, I further state that media engaging in copyright violations and unethical practices will not be tolerated. The company values integrity and content quality, and therefore it is crucial to work with trustworthy and lawful sources. Tabloid media and entities involved in work theft are not welcome in the CNBC world. The company is committed to complying with laws and ethics in content publishing and enforcing copyright protection. This statement serves as a stern warning to all potential partners considering collaboration with CNBC. The company insists on adhering to content legal protection principles and is prepared to take action against unfair competition and unethical practices in media. Back in April 26-27, 2023 during the high-level meeting on copyright enforcement in the digital era held in Seoul, South Korea, I had carefully listened to a session where Thomas Dillon (WIPO Legal Counsellor) and Todd Reves (WIPO Director of Building Respect for IP Division) presented an insightful discussion on the benefits of joining WIPO ALERT Database. After returning, I was determined to turn this idea into reality by putting all efforts to make this happen. Fast forward today (about a year plus) on 13 September 2024, I am incredibly proud to share that Malaysia has officially joined the WIPO ALERT database signed by our Director General Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) and Edward Kwakwa (Assistant Director General, Global Challenges and Partnerships Sector of World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO witnessed by Malaysia Honorable Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (MDT) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali in Geneva! This achievement places Malaysia as the 4th country in Asia, following Japan, South Korea, and Philippines and 2nd in The ASEAN Secretariat together with 14 other nations to strengthen IP and Copyright Protection in the region. It’s been an honor to advocate for this important milestone in copyright enforcement in Malaysia in disrupting digital piracy sites. A special thanks again to Thomas Dillon (he is an expert arbitrator now) whom i first met at at MyIPO office during WIPO-MCST -MyIPO Interregional Meeting on Follow the Money back in 2019 in KL. In a landmark ruling, the Delhi High Court has granted a 'Dynamic+' injunction to Universal Studios, Netflix, and other streaming giants against 42 websites illegally sharing their copyrighted content. This innovative injunction aims to tackle the ever-evolving nature of online piracy, ensuring new works are protected from the moment they are created. Justice Anish Dayal's decision highlights the Court's commitment to safeguarding intellectual property in the digital age. By blocking access to infringing websites and allowing for the immediate inclusion of new offending sites, this ruling sets a robust precedent for future copyright protection. The plaintiffs, represented by Advocate Siddharth Chopra, presented a compelling case against the unauthorized distribution of their content by various ISPs. This dynamic approach not only prohibits the hosting and distribution of copyrighted materials but also mandates swift action from ISPs and regulatory bodies to enforce the injunction. This decision underscores the importance of protecting creative works and ensuring that the hard work of content creators is not undermined by illegal distribution. The IEO found that the 11 sites associated to YTS, namely yts.mx, yts.rs, yts.do, ytsuproxy.to, yts.dirproxy.com, yts.unblocked.love, ytssss.jamsbase.com, yts.lt, yts.ag, yts.am and torrents.yts.rs., all committed piracy or copyright infringement, violating Section 216 of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, as well as Memorandum Circular 23-025 or the Rules on Voluntary Administrative Site Blocking.
