🔹 C𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝟏, 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐝𝐞 2🔹 During clinical rounds, I often hear mothers ask, '𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠? 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐦 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠?' The answer often lies in one fundamental question: is the baby properly 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 at the breast? In this episode, I delve into what makes a 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 in infant care. Using the mnemonic '𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐌,' I simplify essential aspects of attachment for breastfeeding. Signs of Good Attachment for Breastfeeding: ⚡ Baby’s 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧 touches the breast. ⚡ Lower A𝐫𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐢s not visible (upper part can be visible). ⚡ Baby’s 𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐩 is curled outwards (everted). ⚡ Baby’s 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 is wide open. These indicators help ensure effective feeding and comfort for both mother and baby. #breastattachment #exclusivebreastfeeding #workingmoms #mothers #newborns #breastfeeding #CALM

Why does society have so much to say about how you feed your baby?" Whether you choose breastfeeding or formula feeding, it seems like everyone has an opinion. Society often judges moms for their choices, making it feel like there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to feed your baby. But the truth is, every baby and every mom is different, and what works for one may not work for another. It’s time to move past the judgment and focus on what truly matters—your baby’s health, happiness, and well-being. Feeding your baby, no matter the method, is about nourishing them with love and care. So, whether it’s breastfeeding, formula, or a combination of both, trust your instincts and do what works best for you and your baby. Have you ever faced judgment for your feeding choices? How did you handle it? Let's have mom-to-mom conversation - https://lnkd.in/dkHdDdzQ #motherhood #parenting #feeding #breastfeeding
