A reminder to all researchers on refugees and internal displacement....the 3rd Research Conference on Forced Displacement will be later this year and we are now calling for papers. To be considered, completed papers or extended abstracts should be submitted to jdcconference@worldbank.org by May 15, 2024. Papers and extended abstracts can be submitted either in English or in French, but papers in French should also feature an abstract in English. The papers will be selected by a scientific committee and authors chosen to present papers will be notified by June 15, 2024.

The underrepresentation of Southern researchers in academic journals and conferences impacts the global development research and policy agenda. Initiatives that address the skewed composition of editorial boards, the barriers faced by Southern researchers in attending conferences, and that support international research collaborations are needed. 👉 The EU needs your scientific expertise! The European Commission is searching for new members of its Group of Chief Scientific Advisors. The Group of Chief Scientific Advisors provides independent, fact-based, and timely advice to the College of Commissioners. This covers various policy areas - and can include topics raised by the European Parliament or the Council of the European Union. The Group is composed of seven members, selected for their scientific expertise and understanding of how research feeds into policy. The Group is part of the EU's Scientific Advice Mechanism. Recent advice from the Group includes its presentation on #AIinScience to the Commission. Public European research and science organisations are now invited to nominate top-level scientists who meet the criteria stated in the call for nominations. The nominations for this prestigious group are intended to replenish the short-list from which members are appointed.
