Hiring blockchain engineers based on skills only is unlikely to create a real bond between enterprise and employee. I see a lot of great companies hiring based on pre-defined skills and pre-defined metrics. Basically only taking the CV into consideration. This most often results in platonic and impassionate relationships between employees and employer. Of course there are only so much Rust Devs with Solana experience. And you cannot hire a DevOps OG to build your interface. BUT, even within those small niches of specialized talents, the expectations for environments differ. Understanding what exactly it is an employee is looking for, will most likely result in an increase in output and increase quality. When you are in it with your ♥️, you are in it for good! At Jobited, we do not only match tech stacks with job descriptions. We find new homes for incredible talents. Homes that fit in their idea of what a "good" home looks like. That is why we spend a lot of time trying to understand the personality of our talents, rather than only their tech stack. Looking to hire incredible blockchain engineers that fit your working culture? Feel free to DM and follow Jobited

Declan Clarke Personally, I feel like the employer should be making the 'offer' telling potential candidates what the job salary range is out there, since the hirers are the one directly dealing with the clients. I also don't ever remember this question being asked, it used to be so here's what we can offer you and let's go from there. (That's my experience) so in all honesty it's no wonder we are just throwing numbers out there with no idea of what to actually say (so we're not removed from the job opportunity because of the wrong 'figure') when we don't know what it should be or what's accepted. Give us at least a price range and let's go from there. You have the recruitment experience and deal with the clients day in, day out, offering the positions from company to company - we just carry out the role, there should be at least a guideline / guidance for us to go for. I'd love to know why you can't give a salary range or a salary for roles, is it because the client does not know what they're willing to pay a candidate and it's up to the recruiter or because of something else? I look forward to your input on this.
I just had a candidate with 2 years professional experience (after completing a degree in 2021) demand $275k - $325k base salary. The same candidate also told a colleague earlier this year that they would be open to discussing roles at $180k. Why such an increase? The web3 industry definitely has inflated salaries compared to traditional tech, but that is crazy 🤔 😂 Where do these salary expectations come from? Is it an inflated ego or is it other projects/recruiters promising the world without understanding where the market is at. #blockchain #hiring #salaries

Recently I stumbled upon a post, by Declan Clarke discussing a candidate who with two years of experience requested a pay raise from $180,000 to, between $275,000 and $325,000 dollars As we navigate the challenges of today's competitive job market it begs the question. How do we handle such steep salary demands?" I believe that the Equity Theory (developed by psychologist John Stacey Adams) is a concept to explore when assessing job satisfaction, among employees because it focuses on how workers measure their level of contentment by weighing their efforts and performance against their rewards like salary and benefits. When there is a perceived discrepancy between what employees put in and what they receive in return, from their jobs it can cause discontentment to rise and potentially result in turnover rates. Here’s how we can apply this model: 1. Understand Inputs vs. Outputs: As employers, it's important to acknowledge and appreciate the work and impact of our employees by highlighting the skills and accomplishments that are highly regarded within the company. 2. Benchmark Against Market Standards: To ensure that salary projections remain practical and grounded in reality it is advisable to carry out surveys on prevailing market salaries. Openly disclose this data to job seekers, in the recruitment phase. Demonstrating that remuneration levels are in sync, with industry benchmarks promotes a feeling of equity. Helps manage any salary anticipations. 3. Foster Open Conversations: Foster a culture of communication, about pay discussions to foster trust and clarity, in understanding how salaries are set and the elements that influence raises particularly when dealing with candidates who may have high salary expectations. 4. Balance Hygiene Factors with Motivation: Salary plays a role, in job satisfaction. It's not the sole factor to consider. To enhance employee satisfaction and retention levels one should prioritize establishing a rounded work environment that promotes career advancement opportunities and appreciation. A positive company culture. This approach not only draws in talent but also fosters long-term commitment, from employees. In fields such, as Web3 and information technology (IT) where salary increases can be significant using the Equity Theory can assist us in managing discussions. This approach enables us to establish a fairer work environment that benefits both employees and employers alike. What methods have you found to be successful, in handling expectations regarding salary negotiations Let's chat about it! #EquityTheory #JohnStaceyAdams #SalaryExpectations #HRInsights #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeSatisfaction #Web3 #HenleyBusinessSchool
