Photography, a timeless art, transcends mere documentation, acting as a conduit for history's whispers into the future's awaiting ears. With each click of the shutter, it captures fleeting moments, imprisoning them in a frame where past meets present, and future gazes upon the echoes of yesteryears. Through the lens, memories morph into tangible relics, weaving narratives that bridge the chasm between bygone eras and the yet-to-be-written chapters of tomorrow. It freezes time's ceaseless dance, offering a glimpse into the soul of humanity across epochs. Photography, indeed, is the sublime teleporter of the past, enriching the tapestry of the future.

Photography and art are both mediums of expression, but they differ in their approach and execution. Photography captures moments in reality with a focus on realism and often depicts the world as it is, while art encompasses a broader range of styles and interpretations, often involving manipulation or abstraction to convey emotions or concepts beyond literal representation. Both have their unique strengths and can evoke powerful responses from viewers, but they operate within different frameworks of creation and perception.

This street photography exploration or as my Professor, Sir Anirban Dutta Gupta mentioned - an ethno-photographic narrative - was one of the most interesting assignment of the entire module. For this, we had to find a key character, who is 'making' or 'creating' something to make their ends meet and had to explore the various aspects of their life in a duration of three day. The task was to capture and select those few photographs than can pretty much sum up to narrate their life around their work. Here are a few of the many photographs. https://lnkd.in/gxwF_FQP

Cecil Holmes on the Rule of Thirds Tip #2 "For landscape images I usually frame my subject up using the typical rule of thirds gridline. How I compose from there is based on what is more interesting. If the sky is more interesting I place more of it in the frame. If the foreground is more interesting and the sky isn't as interesting, then I place more foreground in the frame." 📷: Cecil Holmes Photography https://lnkd.in/gcP3eYcy
