I know you’re stretched thin. Between work, kids, home, and everything else, the thought of taking time to celebrate yourself probably feels impossible. However, celebrating YOU doesn’t have to be big, expensive, or time-consuming. It starts with recognizing the little wins. Not the things you didn’t get to do, but the things you DID. -The meetings you had while juggling school runs. -The meals you managed to cook, even when you were exhausted. -The bedtime stories and cuddles, even when your energy was low. It’s so easy to focus on what you could have done better. The mom guilt creeps in, and you start thinking: “I should’ve done more for my kids.” “I didn’t do enough at work.” “My house is a mess!” You’re doing enough. You are enough. Every little win counts, and it's time to acknowledge that. So, how do you celebrate? 1️⃣ Reflect – Take a moment today to look back at the year. Think about what you’ve achieved, even in small ways. 2️⃣ Say it out loud – Even if it’s just to yourself. “Wow, I did that.” Celebrate the fact that you showed up every single day. 3️⃣ Treat yourself – It doesn’t have to be a spa day. A quiet cup of tea, a few minutes of solitude, or an evening off can be your way of saying thank you to you. Celebrating yourself isn’t about doing something big. It’s about recognizing your efforts and saying “You did great.” You’ve earned it. I was lucky enough to get a second shot at love and marriage in my later years in life and my favorite thing in the world is to love and serve my little family. What is an interesting or general fact about yourself that you like to share? I am completely obsessed with fall and all things Halloween. What is your favorite quote or mantra? "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." - Steve Jobs What motivated you to pursue your current career? I have always been a giver, and I sprinkle kindness around like glitter. I wanted a job where I not only made a paycheck, but also made a difference in other people's lives. I feel that I can do that in my role here, and I love every single day that I get to do it! What is your proudest professional accomplishment? Being there for someone when they needed it most. What is one tip you would give on how to manage your workload and stay productive? The best way to balance your day is to take stock in every item you have, categorize them by need and urgency, and remain calm and focused on the end result, which is helping everyone in a timely manner. What do you like most about working at Clarity? Helping others. Working on the COBRA side of things, you deal with very delicate situations. Loss of employment, health issues needing coverage, financial hardships - I get to help others in some of their most vulnerable times and make a not-so-great part of their life a little easier. Last week was my 19th wedding anniversary! (I know I don’t look old enough! 😉 ) 19 years represents bronze did you know. Bronze is solid as a material and hard wearing. What have I learned over this time, apart from snoring can be a killer to sleep alongside, and perhaps I have more will power than I think!? My husband and I think and act differently at times on many things as in he is laid back and one day at a time in his thinking and I am a planner, what next kind of person. Hopefully these traits are complimentary, albeit different, but deep down we hold many of the same other values when it comes to working hard, parenting, socialising and looking after our family and families. I would like to say this longevity shows I am good at relationship building. And this is a skill I pride myself on when it comes to business, my clients, networking and so on. Emma Moore left her talent role at Telstra just over 2 years ago and launched her own business, Workspeak Consulting. Give them a follow as you might need a bit of career support at some point. When you’re starting your own business without a bucket full of cash to splash, your expertise in what you do is necessary- but not sufficient. You also have to become adept at marketing and sales, product and service design and marry customer insights with commercial nous. You have to learn to separate your personal identity from your brand and do more than just ride the wave of uncertainty- you have to become masterful at balancing your individual performance and energy which is often the same as your business performance, with its growth while being at the top of your wellbeing game - daily. Uncertainty, challenge, crises of confidence becomes the new normal. After all, if there’s no you, there’s no business. If there’s no business, there’s no impact. I think about the words of Carol Dweck: “becoming is better than being.” And it’s the same for leaders, right? You need to invest in your own growth and that of your team that’s fit for purpose. 🎉 Today, my husband Emanur Rahman and I are celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary 🎉. Together, we’ve navigated: 🏡🏡 house moves 👧🏽🧒🏽 amazing kids, and 🗄🗄🗄🗄🗄🗄🗄 businesses What's our secret? Well, we’ve always made it a priority to pause for breath, take stock and regularly re-evaluate our goals in life....That might sound a bit over the top, but we actually do this! We have to keep up with how we're evolving as individuals and as partners as we move through life and all that it brings. Open communication, of course, has been key, ensuring that we can always ask for what we need at each stage of our journey. In many ways, relationships are just like businesses, don’t you think? They need constant reassessment. Without regular check-ins and open dialogue, things can become stagnant, barriers can form and ultimately they can break down. Emanur definitely has his work cut out, as I am always reinventing myself or my businesses. Fun fact: I was once dubbed the ‘Madonna of Accountancy’ 👩🏻🎤 - constantly evolving, and with Boodl, I'm clearly still at it! Seeing my colleagues light up at the thought of family time, rest, or reconnection reminds me of how important these traditions are to them.⁣ ⁣ For me, it’s not about the holiday itself—it’s about being there for the people I work with. Over the years, I’ve made it a point to support my colleagues during this time, whether it’s by taking on responsibilities, offering a listening ear, or simply being present when they needed it most.⁣ ⁣ And in return, they’ve shown up for me in moments that mattered—during Ramadan, Eid, personal milestones, or when I simply needed a helping hand.
