Study timelines tend to be longest in PJM, NYISO, CAISO, SPP, and MISO, whereas ERCOT and the non-ISO regions (Southeast and West) have had faster processing times. Maybe some lessons to be learned! Excited to share a fun analogy between the bustling matatu system and the world of telecommunications! There are various data transmission technologies i.e. PDH,SDH,ATM,OTN and many more. Let me focus on SDH(synchronous digital hierarchy) Imagine a bustling city with various neighborhoods, each bustling with activity and people needing to travel between them. Now, let's relate this to data transmission: Passengers as Data: Think of data as passengers needing to travel from one neighborhood (source) to another (destination). These passengers represent the digital information being transmitted. Matatu Routes as SDH Channels: Just like matatus have specific routes they follow, SDH has channels or paths designated for carrying data. These channels are like dedicated routes on which data travels. Matatu Capacity as STM: Each matatu has a specific capacity, say 14 passengers. Similarly, STM in SDH represents the capacity or size of the data containers. For example, STM-1 can carry up to 155 megabits per second (Mbps) of data, while STM-4 can carry four times that amount, and so on. It was an intellectual experience to participate in “Science-to-Policy Communication (SPC)” workshop conducted in cooperation between the Institute of National Planning and Uppsala University in Sweden. The workshop was organized by the North African Center for the Application of Systems Analytics (NAASAC) at INP in cooperation with The Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) at Uppsala University in Sweden aiming at highlighting the art of communication between science and policies in making appropriate and evidence-based decisions, and how to design and implement policy-oriented research that effectively supports decision-making processes, and ensures effective and influential participation in decision-making. #InstituteofNationalPlanning #The Nordic Africa Institute

Russia to allocate $15.6 bln for scientific and technological development in 2025 According to the document, more than $2.4 bln are planned to be allocated for a number of process measures titled as "Conducting fundamental scientific research" in 2025 MOSCOW, September 30/ Financing of the state program "Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation" for 2025 is planned in the amount of 1 trillion 452 billion 568.4 million rubles ($15.6 bln), according to the explanatory note to the bill on the federal budget for 2025 and for the planning period of 2026 and 2027. The text of the document is published on the State Duma website. "Budgetary allocations for financial support for the implementation of the state program "Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation" are planned in 2025 in the amount of 1,452,568.4 million rubles, in 2026 - 1,594,154.5 million rubles ($17.1 bln) and in 2027 - 1,603,143.4 million rubles ($17.2 bln)," the document says. 𝑷𝙖𝒓𝙩𝒏𝙚𝒓 𝑯𝙞𝒈𝙝𝒍𝙞𝒈𝙝𝒕: DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V. In the U_CAN Project, the German Institute for Standardization will be responsible for leading the standardization activities related to the project. This will include the analysis of relevant existing standards, the identification of standardization potential and the initiation of standardization (which could lead to the development of, for example, CEN Workshop Agreements or the contribution to ongoing standardization activities). DIN will be the focal point for standardization and will foster the interaction with standardization bodies in Ukraine and Europe, among others.
