This Morning, I received a link to the article below, I haven't posted for a while, and I am back with a rant!!! https://lnkd.in/dkDxsR8k There is never much good publicity about garages. I totally get it that there are garages out there that have poor standards, but we are moving on. Although this article is specific about certain repairs and problems, I wanted to highlight some points. Reading this article about customers complaining about car repairs, 1. Are garages not allowed to increase their cost in line with inflation? 2. When i hear people complain about other garages, I often find they didn't understand what was done to their car. 3. When they complain they do not always relay the correct information across. 4. Their car would not cost so much if they took the time regularly visit their garage? 5. Parts or components can break. 6. Car owners have no idea how advanced cars have become and when it comes to diagnosis and fault finding, multiple parts may be required - This scenario sometimes leads to, you have misdiagnosed my car and all sorts of other problems. 7. It is expensive to kit out a garage and have consistent investment, when the everyday motorist does not want to pay for expertise and is influenced by U tube and google. 8. It is not in the awareness of car motorists to want to learn the basic car maintenance, and they do not see their car as investment! Its all about education, being forward thinking and finding creative ways to engage with the car owner to understand the importance of regular car maintenance and visits to prevent escalation. There are always 2 sides to the story and the customer is not always right and perception plays a huge role.
