Excellent podcast, recommended listening and some excellent follow-up resources located on the website. For those of you that have followed my digital assessment journey from #UBC, there are parallels here to my pillars that #AcademicIntegrity is not just a 'teacher' problem, but an institutional one. The #SwissCheeseModel addresses this quite nicely, and where my recommendation of the assessment #RadarTrap fits as well.

In this episode of No Silly Questions - An Education Podcast for Parents, fellow Francophile Claire Goldsmith explains very well how AI tools can enable teachers to concentrate on the relational aspects of education, guiding students in discovering their identities and understanding their place in the world. Earlier this year, I attended SXSW EDU in Austin, prompting me to grapple with essential questions we - educators and caregivers - must continually consider: What kinds of restructuring and long-term planning are necessary to prioritize our students' needs in this century? What standards must evolve as we progress into the '30s and '40s of the 21st century, and why? In this vein, we need to think deeply about the impact of AI on education. I highly recommend this episode, where Claire eloquently explains how AI can enhance our focus on critical and creative thinking. Does your school have a Generative AI Committee? If not, it’s time to start one! According to a survey conducted by the National Association of Independent Schools, only 39% of independent schools have developed either approaches or policies.
Loved being interviewed about AI in education by Danielle Freilich and Jordana Fruchter on their No Silly Questions Podcast. They asked me whether teachers would all be robots one day! Such thoughtful questions from two great educators. I started with how I got interested in technology in education...and ended with their "extra credit" question: "And finally, one thing that gives you hope for the future of childhood is..." Shoutouts in the episode to the work of Katie Davis, Amanda Bickerstaff, and John Gulla. And soooo honored to be in the company of other luminaries they've had on like Michael Horn, Emily Oster, and Jennifer Breheny Wallace. #edtech #ai

"How can we effectively tackle the challenge of assessment with AI in education?" A thought-provoking question for me from a guest on the Pecha Kucha Podcast sparked some introspection. My belief is that AI can revolutionise educational assessments and workflows (and business for that matter), saving us huge amounts of time. But it also comes with many challenges. However, the key lies in maintaining a balance, ensuring that AI supports educators without replacing the irreplaceable human touch. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! How do you see AI impacting educational assessments? #Education #ArtificialIntelligence #EdTech #PechaKuchaPodcast #Podcast Seán Grant I JP Taggart
