The amount of rainfall varies across the islands of Vanuatu. The wet season, typically from November to April, brings heavy rain showers. This consistent rainfall is essential for the fertility of the soil, providing the necessary moisture and nutrients for robust plant growth. #Nagapanchami is an example of mutual care of species in #Vasudev #Kutumb. #Reptiles generally begin #brumation in late autumn (more specific times depend on the species). They often wake up to drink water and return to "sleep". They can go for months without food. Reptiles may eat more than usual before the brumation time but eat less or refuse food as the temperature drops. However, they do need to drink water. The brumation period is anywhere from one to eight months depending on the air temperature and the size, age, and health of the reptile.

Nurturing Hope in the heat 🌿 Planting a tree takes more than just soil and water. It requires dedication, patience and hope. Samina received two tree saplings Neem and Moringa by Tearfund and implementing partner LAMP Pakistan. Samina lives in Jamshoro, Sindh where temperature soars up to 40 C or more. It is difficult for tree saplings to survive unless proper care is taken. These trees represent more than just shade, they promise to cool down the area, improve the air quality and provide nutritional benefits from the Moringa leaves. Samina’s journey of care and commitment is a beautiful example of resilience. #ClimateAction #TreePlanting #SustainableFuture #CommunityResilience #Gogreenpakistan

In Pakistan, peaches are primarily grown in the regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, especially in areas like Peshawar, Swat, Chitral, Malakand, and Kalat. The peach harvest season typically starts from May and lasts until the first week of September. There are two main types of peaches cultivated in Pakistan: clingstone and freestone. In Peshawar and Swat, the most popular varieties are "Early Grande" and "Florida King," while in Balochistan, "Golden Early," "Shah Pasand," and "Sheereen" are more commonly grown. Swat alone produces approximately 6,400 tons of peaches annually, making it an ideal region for peach cultivation. With proper governmental support and promotion, the peach industry could significantly boost the local economy. #SweetAndJuicy #LocalProduce #HealthyEating #FruitLover

< Pakistan > As winter's chill starts to settle over the Gojal Valley of Hunza (Pakistan), local farmers, deeply connected to their land and traditions, engage in a centuries-old practice that has sustained them through the harshest winter; burying freshly harvested potatoes. Potatoes are buried under the frozen earth, preserving their freshness and usability for several months. This ancient storage method is commonly practiced throughout the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Northern Pakistan.

" The Meaning of Severe Punishment" Today, the Public Prosecutor in Indonesia is charging a Javan Rhino poacher with a 5-year prison sentence. The 5-year sentence is the maximum penalty under Law No. 5 of 1990 for wildlife traffickers who kill, injure, possess, trade, or keep protected animals and their parts. Although to this day, the crime versus severe punishment has always been controversial in creating a deterrent effect, severe punishment also provides a deterrent or warning to those who might attempt similar crimes, that they will face the same risks as the perpetrator. For professional wildlife traffickers, they will certainly change their modus operandi and assess the situation from the law enforcement actions taken. However, we cannot deny that wildlife traffickers also include opportunistic perpetrators who will poach rhinos when the opportunity arises for them. It is these opportunistic perpetrators who will be more intimidated by the presence of severe punishment. So, severe punishment in enforcement remains one of the options for creating a deterrent effect for certain perpetrators. It's like formulating a medicine that will be effective for a specific disease, not for all existing diseases. https://lnkd.in/gDXivxqm
