I am thrilled to announce the publication of our (Behnam T., X. Angela Yao) recent paper titled "Encounter Network and Its Application to Studying Epidemic Spread through Public Transportation Networks" in the Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board. In our paper, we explore the critical issue of epidemic transmission in urban public transportation networks. Utilizing network analysis, particularly betweenness centrality, we introduce innovative metrics such as the total betweenness centrality (TBC) to assess the risk of disease transmission from one node to another, and vice versa. Our research offers new insights that could significantly influence public health strategies and improve our understanding of how diseases spread in crowded urban environments. 🔗 You can access the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/evEhrrjU #EpidemicModeling #PublicHealth #TransportationNetworks #NetworkAnalysis #ResearchPublication
