Happy Monday 😁 This month I have been with MSS Performance a DECADE 😮 I’ve debated on writing this but really wanted to do a brief summary reflecting on this time. I came to MSS temporarily whilst I went back to study & to say I am still here now running the day to day business & constantly trying to find ways of growing the business is pretty crazy as my knowledge was pretty much zero when I started! When I joined the business MSS had not long finished being a full time SBK team to then adapting to a Performance centre where we could share our passion & knowledge with other Race Teams, Club riders & Road riders. Over the last 10 years I have seen this evolve into something we didn’t really know what direction we was heading in but to see where the brand is now makes me proud! It’s been a rollercoaster, with some real highs & moments where you question whether you want to continue, truth is I think that’s part of business! The love & passion I have for this industry is huge I don’t think I could ever just ‘Give Up’. Our Performance Centre is continuously evolving with the services we offer, we are Kawasaki’s Official Technical Partner, we have built a great team of staff that share our passion which we couldn’t do what we do with out them who consistently strive for more & of course our loyal customer base. Our own product range, we now offer over 60 MSS Products & have become the UK Distributor for some of the industries most reputable Brands! This off season has really been challenging with so much to organise before the 2024 Race Season begins! - I think I secretly love the stress & chaos😂 Something we have always strived for is bringing young riders through for aslong as I can remember back to when Nick (Director/Father) had the team, to this year embarking on being the Technical Partner for the Kawasaki Tracker Superteen Series at British Superbikes. This is definitely a project I’ve felt a lot of passion towards & cannot wait to see it get underway. The America’s Cup is arguably the pinnacle of competitive sailing. 6 teams will compete for the AC37’s coveted prize. Volunteering at the upcoming 37th America's Cup in Barcelona is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Great efforts have gone into getting us, 2,300 volunteers, ready to make AC37 the best one yet. A wonderful experience, unforgettable moments, and new friendships Oriol Sancerni Jordana, Stéphane Simon, Dominic Smith. Sustainability and inclusivity are central themes at AC37, with initiatives like hydrogen-powered support boats, and the inclusion of regattas for women and youth sailors. Teams from 12 countries will compete on a race course that will be laid parallel to the beach. Expect some spectacular viewing opportunities.   AI and other technologies play an important role to drive disruptive innovation in high performance sailing. Many sailing enthusiast will remember how McKinsey’s QuantumBlack teamed with Emirates Team New Zealand in the last America’s Cup, using reinforcement learning to train 1,000+ AI agents to run its sailing simulator, then used it to refine boat designs and optimise sailing strategies. The Best Performance is Sustainable Performance!

Well what a few months it has been… After a period of intense strategy creation and redevelopment of our business from the ground up, I have just returned from some much needed R&R in the Isle of Man, my absolute favorite place on earth. The serene beauty of the island, with its stunning coastline and rolling hills, provided the perfect escape from the bustling world of work. It was a much-needed opportunity to recharge and reconnect with nature as well as the opportunity to combine my passion for Motorbikes and Road Racing! 🏍️ 🛣️ While enveloped in the amazing collaborative community and getting to watch Michael Dunlop become the GOAT with his incredible 28TT wins, I have pondered the lessons that this sport teaches me in business… 🤔 1. Pursue Innovation: The Isle of Man TT race is known for its constant innovation in motorcycle technology and racing techniques. In business, it is crucial to stay ahead of the competition by continuously innovating and adapting to changing market trends. 💡 2. Embrace Risk: The TT race is considered one of the most dangerous motorsport events in the world. It teaches us the importance of taking calculated risks in business. Sometimes, taking risks can lead to significant rewards and growth opportunities. 😬 3. Focus on Preparation: The riders participating in the TT race spend months preparing themselves and their bikes for the race. Similarly, in business, thorough preparation and planning are essential to achieve success. Investing time in research, analysis, and strategy can make a significant difference. 🎯 4. Perseverance and Resilience: The Isle of Man TT race is physically and mentally demanding. Endurance and the ability to overcome challenges are crucial for success in business as well. It is important to stay resilient, learn from failures, and keep pushing forward even in difficult times. 💪 5. Teamwork and Collaboration: The TT race involves a team effort, with riders, mechanics, and support staff working together to achieve victory. In business, fostering a collaborative environment and leveraging the strengths of each team member can lead to better outcomes. 🤝 6. Adaptability and Flexibility: The Isle of Man TT race takes place on public roads, which means the track conditions can vary. Riders must quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
