Check out this impactful message from 2022 honoree, Dr. Omar Lateef, President and CEO of Rush University System for Health and Rush University Medical Center. This speech was shared just weeks ago during his opening keynote at the Health Equity Conference ahead of the Diversity Leaders Awards Gala in Chicago. Dr. Lateef posed a powerful and provocative question: "Who gets a chance to be healthy?" This question, as he explained, is not just rhetorical—it’s essential for understanding and addressing the systemic inequities in healthcare access. His speech reminded us that fostering conversations across leadership about disparities is crucial for creating solutions that close barriers and ensure equitable healthcare for all. At Furst Group and NuBrick Partners, we have been proud to sponsor the Diversity Leaders Awards Gala for more than 15 years, supporting leaders like Dr. Omar Lateef, who are driving critical conversations and championing change. ✨ Grateful to Aenta Better Health of Illinois for the incredible opportunity to speak on the panel at the 2024 ABHIL Value-Based Care Summit! ✨ It was an honor to join industry leaders and providers to discuss how we can collaboratively transform health care through value-based care models. During the panel, we explored key topics essential to advancing mental health care: - **Integration of Behavioral Health and Primary Care:** We discussed effective strategies for integrating behavioral health services into primary care settings to improve patient outcomes and best practices for coordinating care between primary care providers and behavioral health specialists. - **Data-Driven Approach:** The role of data analytics in identifying and managing behavioral health populations within Medicaid and leveraging predictive modeling to proactively address behavioral health needs were highlighted. - **Access to Care:** We explored strategies to increase access to behavioral health services for Medicaid members and how telehealth and innovative solutions can bridge gaps in care, especially in underserved areas. - **Addressing Stigma and Disparities:** Successful initiatives in reducing stigma associated with seeking behavioral health care and addressing health disparities to ensure equitable access to services for all Medicaid members were shared. At Brave Health, we believe in the power of collaboration to expand access to mental health care. By partnering with other providers, we strive to ensure that more individuals receive the support they need. A special thank you to my fellow panelists Marilyn Griffin, MD, DFAPA, DFAACAP and Hector B. and our moderator Nicole Gillis Your insights and expertise were invaluable to the discussion. #ValueBasedCare #MentalHealth #BraveHealth #HealthcareInnovation #ABHILSummit #Aetna
