Pulmonology on Air on behalf of Erbe Bronchoscopy: Let’s revisit the live case from Zurich, presented during Pulmonology On Air 2024. Drs Carolin Steinack and Thomas Gaisl used Ion robotic bronchoscopy and cone-beam CT (CBCT) to diagnose two peripheral lung lesions near the pleura. Key highlights of the procedure: ✅ Procedure under 30 minutes. ✅ Successful targeting of lesions without a bronchus sign. ✅ Cryobiopsy was performed with a 1.1 mm cryoprobe for histological analysis. This case demonstrates the potential of robotic-assisted bronchoscopy in pulmonary diagnostics. As technology continues to evolve, we’re confident that this approach will play a growing role in the future of interventional pulmonology. 👉 Missed the live case? 🫀Data shows the use of vMap during complex AF ablation procedures can significantly improve freedom from atrial arrhythmias compared with standard-of-care pulmonary vein isolation. ⬇️ A recent study found that additional AF driver site ablation guided by vMap was associated with an 86.5% freedom from all atrial arrhythmias compared to 48.0% of the control group. Presented at AF Symposium, "Ablation of Non-Pulmonary Vein Atrial Fibrillation Drivers Identified by vMap in Addition to Pulmonary Vein Isolation Improves Procedural Outcomes." Bringing this topic of awareness to this platform for #interventionalcardiologist #interventionalradiology #cardiothoracicsurgeon and anyone in a procedural area! I am blessed to have a platform that connects labs across the country and even the world, so I get to have perspectives and input from multiple centers. I had a few submissions of cases with subtherapeutic ACTs despite high doses of heparin. In stent thrombosis, thrombosis along the wire. Sure could be the IV, coagulopathy - but several cases back to back? 🤔 across multiple hospitals 🤔- maybe it is a manufacturing issue. The concentration could be off! What is my suggestion? - Do not wire until you have confirmation of a therapeutic ACT! Cannot achieve one? - Switch to Angiomax. Sometimes waiting on the ACT gets bypassed in emergencies but maybe we need to make sure we address it once perfusion is restored. This poll represents 150 individuals answering “Yes” or “Only a few incidents”. That’s a lot of patients! What do you think? Have you seen these issues?
