While it's not the only busy month for sponsors, it's certainly one that keeps them juggling multiple commitments. I've had people ask me, "What's the best time to host an event?" Honestly, I was perplexed at first because events are happening all year round. Then I realized that some months are busier for sponsors than others. Those peak months tend to be: ⬝April ⬝June ⬝August ⬝October ⬝November ⬝December In particular, October is a month packed with fundraising galas. My theory? People choose October because it doesn't interfere with Giving Tuesday campaigns, Thanksgiving food drives, holiday events (like Winter Wonderland), or end-of-year giving pushes. This is my observation - I'd love to hear if it matches your experience. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐩: When planning your next event, consider choosing a month that isn't overpopulated with competing events. This strategy can help ensure sponsors don't have to choose between supporting you or someone else. It’s been nonstop sponsorship-offer-letter writing over here and the one thing we’ve learned is: sponsors really don’t care about their logos being on stuff. The thing to remember is: money = access. When writing an offer, consider these counter-intuitive benefits that deliver high-value access (and NTM status). Exclusive Data: Sponsors like to get special information about the people who come to the gala. This helps them understand who they’re reaching. Not just attendee emails, but think of audience psychographics and values too. Create Content: Allow your sponsors to make videos or posts during the fundraiser. This way, they can share interesting stuff about their brand. Take it one step further — give your sponsors photos, videos, and reels before the gala is over. Storytelling: Give your sponsors the opportunity to tell their story in the context of your mission. Think: pre-event impact videos, editorial in the event program, etc. Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Alignment: Highlighting eco-friendly practices and social impact initiatives within the fundraiser attract sponsors looking to enhance their CSR profiles. Clear Results: Provide a report after the gala showing how it helped the sponsor build relationships and elevate its brand.
