🌐 For LACNet as a #blockchain infrastructure and Category A Liaison of ISO - International Organization for Standardization´s Committee 307 on #blockchain and #dlt, it is of utmost importance to work hand in hand with other stakeholders on standards for blockchain #interoperability for #DigitalWallets. 🤝🌐💼 Therefore, with a long journey in #standardization since its inception, #LACNet has proposed a draft of content to be submitted for consideration of the delegations at ISO, to jointly develop a Publicly Available Specification (PAS) in support of Universal Digital Wallets. 🛡️ A PAS swiftly addresses urgent market needs, reflecting consensus among experts or external organizations. It serves as a channel for feedback, potentially evolving into an International Standard within six years. 📚 During the week of June 3 to 7, plenary meetings at ISO will determine the next steps for this initiative, based on the decisions of the respective delegations and seeking the joint effort of all interested parties. On the 30th of December this year the EU MiCA-regulation will start being applicable (parts of the regulation will already start being applicable on the 30th of June). MiCA’s purpose is to regulate the issuance of crypto-assets and the provisioning of crypto-asset related services within the European Union and will have a profound effect on European blockchain businesses and other blockchain businesses wishing to be active within the union. The MiCA-regulation and the regulatory requirements it brings with it has been intensely discussed around the world. However, when it comes to MiCA’s impact on taxation of blockchain activity within the EU, the discussions have mostly fallen silent. As blockchain businesses start adapting their products and services to the new regulations imposed by MiCA it can therefore be a good idea to also keep yourself updated on how your offered products and services will be taxed in the jurisdiction where you are active. preTAX AB

As part of the Global Standards Mapping Initiative (GSMI) 5.0, Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC)'s Technical Standards Working Group with Co-Chairs Daniel Conway (University of Arkansas) and Neil Wasserman (The George Washington University) is in full swing.   Technical standards are fundamental to ensure functionality for any innovation, offering effectiveness for technical developments, adherence to best practices, and regulatory compliance. Through technical standards, harmonization of processes can be achieved at a global level, reducing data silos while improving efficiencies and reducing costs.   GSMI 5.0’s Technical Standards Working Group provides an underlying focus to all other GSMI working groups, having mapped out the global bodies advancing standards for blockchain technology.
