What about Sustainability and Space? Sustainability is about meeting current needs without compromising future generations. It aims to balance economic growth, environmental health, and social well-being on Earth. As of June 19, 2024, there are over 10,000 active satellites in orbit, with SpaceX's Starlink constellation accounting for around two-thirds of them, mainly in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) between 400 and 1,200 kilometers above Earth. Additionally, there are nearly 3,200 rocket stages and over 13,000 pieces of orbital debris, highlighting the growing risk of collisions in space. NASA's recent announcement of a plan to clean up space debris raises the question of whether it will be sufficient to address the increasing vulnerability of space to collisions. In the 1960's, NASA pioneered the use of digital twin technology during its space exploration missions by creating physically duplicated systems at ground level to match the systems in space. Digital twin technology later played a crucial role in making the 2021 mission for the Mars rover exploration of the Jezero crater a success. The technology has since advanced, and the use cases are vast. In real estate, leveraging digital twins for planning purposes has proven to be an effective tool. The ability to monitor, stress test, and optimize assets in real-time via a virtual replica of physical property can lead to cost savings, improved operational efficiencies, enhanced tenant experienced, and overall risk mitigation. Commercial real estate (CRE) leaders have been successfully integrating digital twin technology as part of their strategy for years and has the potential to continue to transform the built environment and real estate industry. According to MarketsandMarkets™, in 2019 the Digital Twins industry was worth $3.8 billion. By 2025, this figure is projected to reach a staggering $35.8 billion. #CREtech #DigitalTwins #NASA #DigitalTransformation #SpaceExploration

Do you know? 💡 During Voyager 1's closest approach to Jupiter on March 5, 1979, artificial intelligence did not play a direct role, as AI capabilities were in their early stages of development at that time and were not integrated into spacecraft operations. Mission planning and decision-making during the Jupiter encounter were conducted by scientists and mission controllers on Earth, based on data received from the spacecraft. However, today, artificial intelligence plays a crucial role in space exploration. It is used to analyze large amounts of data collected by spacecraft, improve mission planning, automate processes, and assist in decision-making. This allows scientists and mission operators to make the most of space missions and gain a deeper understanding of the universe. #RashaServices #AI #Space #Jupiter
