Two facts were undoubtedly emphasized at last week's Commercializing Quantum event in London. One, Denmark is establishing itself as an important hub for innovation, with many exciting activities in the quantum technology space, and two, collaboration is becoming increasingly important. Our key takeaways 👇 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨: The industry now holds a more pragmatic view of quantum computing's capabilities than just a year or two ago. This shift is vital for focusing on practical applications rather than succumbing to the hype. (Don't get us wrong, the future looks promising, and any new industry needs some hype to ignite🔥) 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢: There's a growing emphasis on developing a comprehensive quantum ecosystem. This includes fostering even more collaborations that integrate hardware, software, and customer needs 🤝 We look forward to more great events like Economist Impact's 3rd Annual Commercialising Quantum Global, which brings together the ecosystem of hardware manufacturers, software companies (such as Kvantify), researchers, investors, and customers. Finally a big round of applause to all the speakers who brings the most exciting progress into the daylight, not least Astrid Katrine Kyhl, René Dinesen, Hans Henrik H. Knudsen and Lene B. Oddershede.

Some Europeans believe that Europe has lagged in several key technology waves such as the Internet, AI, 5G and others. They are determined not to repeat this in quantum technology. The EU has issued a declaration on quantum technologies. It outlines a comprehensive strategy for advancing quantum technology across Europe, emphasizing its strategic importance for the EU's scientific and industrial competitiveness. Here are the key points: Strategic Importance and Ambition: The declaration recognizes quantum technologies as crucial for the EU's competitiveness and sovereignty, aiming to establish Europe as the leading global region for quantum excellence and innovation, termed the 'quantum valley'. Fields of Application: Quantum computing, simulation, communication, sensing, and metrology are identified as fields with transformative potential across various sectors, including computing, secure communication, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, security, and space. Economic and Strategic Value: Quantum technologies are highlighted as a priority within the European Economic Security Strategy, with significant investments already committed by the EU and Member States exceeding EUR 8 billion since 2018. Previous Initiatives: The document references past EU initiatives, such as the Quantum Technologies Flagship and the EuroQCI initiative, aiming for Europe to have its first computer with quantum acceleration by 2025 and leading quantum capabilities by 2030. Collective Ambitions and Challenges: It underlines the collective ambition and excellence in quantum research within the EU, acknowledging the competitive global landscape and the need for Europe to mobilize its innovators and industry to maintain a leading position. Aim and Activities for Collaboration: The declaration sets forth an aim for collaborative efforts to create a globally competitive quantum ecosystem in Europe, with activities ranging from aligning R&D programs, accelerating marketable quantum innovations, supporting quantum competence clusters, developing quantum infrastructures, boosting innovation and investments, identifying necessary skills and training, and understanding the societal impact of quantum technologies. Framework for Collaboration: It suggests establishing a collaboration framework, potentially advised by top-level science and industry representatives, to implement the declaration's activities. Open Invitation and Next Steps: The document invites all EU Member States to join and sign the declaration, with a commitment to develop a plan of action for its implementation, setting concrete targets aligned with the Digital Decade strategy. Yes, now we have a good way to transmit/process data by using such advanced technologies, but we need more human inputs. Let's try a simple go/no-go test to see if it works: "Is there any today's data technology/solution you know, that can interpret and answer the following fundamental and realistic Chinese-English multilingual questions of BI?" With our intellectualproperty (IP), a copyrighted multilingual metadata, we can provide real time answers, as evidence for policy/decision making. "Who, in the Ontario province of Canada, has new US patents granted on the nearest Tuesday, when the USPTO releases the newly granted US patents on a weekly basis?" "Who, in the "江蘇‘’ province of China, has new US patents granted on the nearest Tuesday, when the USPTO releases the newly granted US patents on a weekly basis?" Metadata is an enabler, whose purpose is to help us find the data we want. Without metadata, NO data can be found/retrieved, even by the most advanced technologies, like AI, high-end chips, supercomputers, etc. https://lnkd.in/g-aJFnXR Our IP can also make your data service UNIQUE globally.

The next event you can find me at and why you definitely shouldn't miss it... Just as AI was not (or far below) on your radar 5 years ago, it will probably be no different with quantum computing today. Or is that an assumption? It still seems like a distant future and we are yet to fully understand what the impact will be until we can effectively experience it for ourselves. The thing is, once you can experience it for yourself, you are too late. The importance of data and technology are almost becoming a catchword within healthcare. Everyone talks about it but we often don't get beyond some frameworks for data sharing and interoperability. Quantum computing is fundamentally different from classical computing due to its use of qubits, superposition, entanglement and interference. It has the potential to solve certain classes of problems much faster and more efficiently than classical computers, but many challenges remain before it can be widely adopted and applied to real-world scenarios. So if you want to talk (which I definitely do) with quantum experts and improve your understanding of it, you'd better attend Quantum Circle Summit in November. More informatie here👇
