Stop Winging It in Job Interviews! As a recruiter, I see talented people crash & burn at interviews. It's painful to watch... but it's 100% avoidable. 8 Things You Should NEVER Say in a Job Interview (and exactly what to say instead): #Don't Say: "I'm looking for good work-life balance." #Ask: "What are the key expectations for success here?" #Don't Say: "I don't have any questions." #Ask: "Tell me more about the team I'd be working with?" #Don't Say: "I didn't get along with my last boss." #Say: "I'm looking for a work place that values collaboration and respect." #Don't Say: "I'll do anything." #Say: "I'm passionate about [specific area]. How can I contribute to this at your company?" #Don't Say: "What does this company do again?" #Say: "I was impressed by [specific project/ initiative]." #Don't Say: "How soon can I get promoted?" #Ask: "What are the opportunities for growth?" #Don't Just Say: "I don't know.” #Ask: "Can I have some time to check & get back to you?" #Don't Say: "I'm looking for $X amount of salary." #Say: "I'm looking for a reasonable uplift. In terms of exact numbers, let me get back to you." Master these and you'll ace the interview When you know what to say, you're not just a candidate. You get hired. Share to help someone land their dream job!
