Interesting persecptive on a nicely balanced framework of self care skills… I’d add sensory comfort/pleasure into the physical section.

My most popular post of 2024 was about self-care. It feels like it might be worthwhile to post on it again now. We often talk about self-care as if it is a single skill. For your consideration, I have broken it into 4 distinct sub-topics. It is my hope that this gives you 4 times the avenues for self-care. Let me know what you think.

Love this. While it's a lot, the first takeaway is there are many facets to self-care and it's good to think this through clearly (define our terms). It's a helpful lens to think through for each goal you may aspire to over the year. #selfcare #growth #maintenance

This is a really clear image of what self care looks like and if you look at it from the opposite, e.g. not enough sleep, no connection, no meaning or purpose; it might help you see why your are feeling anxious or unhappy; why you may feel tired and demotivated in your personal or professional life or both. No-one is perfect, but if you hit most of these things, prioritise self care, you will feel better overall and your mood will be more consistent with less swings. thanks Robert Biswas-Diener for putting this together.

A great guide for those who struggle with allowing for self-care. As they say before every flight, put your mask on first if needed...
