Lead Providers are already beginning to develop models for gathering consumer consent across multiple buyers using a checkbox format. This format empowers customers to select which buyers they consent to engage with. While promising, this approach presents unique challenges, particularly from the consumer experience perspective. Here are two critical challenges I'll discuss: Challenge # 1: Customers are often unfamiliar with the flexibility of granting consent. This unfamiliarity can lead to abandonment of the form after progressing through initial stages. Challenge # 2: Customers may not recognize all presented brands, which can prompt form abandonment or selection of only well-known national brands. To alleviate these challenges, consider the following strategies: Educate Customers: ✅ Highlight the benefits of selecting multiple options, potentially through video links, call-outs before checkboxes, or tooltips. ✅ Emphasize the advantages of engaging with businesses of various sizes, catering to preferences for personalized experiences or trusted national brands. Enhance Buyer Recognition: ✅ Provide concise information about each buyer through bullet points showcasing their brand attributes. ✅ Enable links to review sites to facilitate customer vetting of smaller buyers. Display buyer logos alongside their names for instant recognition. By addressing these challenges and implementing these strategies, we can enhance the consumer experience and optimize the effectiveness of consent-gathering processes in digital environments.
