Daniel Dawes, congratulations and strong work! I believe not spoken of enough is the US economic consequence of health inequity. Moreover, “The Economic Burden of Health Inequity.” Fundamental economics reveals “opportunity cost.” Contextually, overcoming health inequity to achieve health equity markedly improves healthcare economics notwithstanding benefits of patient outcomes and arguably the clinician experience, e.g., addressing the issue of minority patient - clinician trust… Evidence suggest the US health equity economic benefit to the US economy, potentially, is greater than $500B per annual. Extrapolated across the US economy over a relative short period of time health equity may present as more than a trillion dollars in cost avoidance or economic burden. In the final analysis health equity, given the rippling affect of economics, will benefit all Americans including economically affluent populations whom tend to be outliers of poor health outcomes compared to greater afflicted women and minority populations.
