🎤 🎯 The Turning Point: Action Must Match Intent 🎯 🎤 In today’s world, innovation moves at lightning speed, often evolving faster than we can keep up. With FOMO (fear of missing out) creeping into every decision, it’s easy to get distracted by shifting trends or the allure of being early adopters. Sometimes, we need a moments pause, and refocus on what really matters. The recent 20th Malaysian Media Conference, themed The Turning Point, offered us such an opportunity. Before diving into the rich insights and experiences shared, we took time to reflect on this pivotal moment we find ourselves at. A huge thank you to Prof Harmandar Singh and the team for indulging this turn away from the usual keynote for some ‘Teh Tarik Chemistry’ instead. Then the spotlight shone on the constellation of four bright stars; Darren Yuen, Nizwani Shahar, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad and Nisha Devina Roy, with Prof Ham’s rapid-fire questions drawing candid reflections of their journeys, experiences and challenges. Sailendra Kanagasundram followed, delivering the State of OOH in Malaysia with such flair worthy of a State of the Union address. Next, Sue-Anne Lim took us beyond algorithms, shedding light on the glaring issues of our time. Eileen, Ooi Wei Ling then shared some blasphemous truths about digital media, before Maaz A. Khan shocked us with the realisation that for all the reach, we might not have earned attention! And finally, Ranganathan Somanathan; swapping his robes for shades, closed the session with a mystically profound reminder that we are all one. Though alluding to the silos inherent in the agency (and corporate) ecosystem, his ‘kung fu’ was just as applicable in the greater societal context. This 20th edition of Marketing Magazine Asia’s Malaysian Media Conference was as eye-opening and thought-provoking as ever. The intent was clear, and the actions matched. Now, it’s up to each of us to apply those insights – ensuring our actions align with our true intentions. #MalaysianMediaConference #MMC2024 #TheTurningPoint #20thAnniversary #ActionsMustMatchIntent #Marketing #ImpactYourCircleOfInfluence #MarketingMagazine
