MEHITS can offer the optimal system solution. The efficiency of the heat pump unit increases as the heat source temperature increases, reducing the operating costs. On the other hand, investment costs vary depending on difficulty of access to the energy source and on the resulting infrastructure required, e.g. the distance between heating plant and heat source. Availabilty of the heat source could be year-round or can face seasonal fluctuations. Depending on the characteristics of the plant, different heat pump units can be used and combined to obtain the required temperatures and capacities.

Re-use of resources is key for us as a business. This short video is great at explaining how we achieve this with these important facilities.
❓ How do we produce renewable #heat and #electricity for municipalities? We use boilers that use #biomass or non-recyclable #waste as fuel! ➡️ Heat from combustion is captured by heat exchangers that produce #steam. High-pressure steam is used to generate electricity, and low-pressure steam will be used for heating. ⚡ ➡️ Electricity and heat are transferred to district distribution networks. The electricity improves heat pumps’ energy sufficiency, and the steam provides heat to buildings’ heating systems. Thanks to this process, building occupants benefit from an #energy source that is reliable, cost-effective and #renewable. ♻️ Discover more in this video 👇

Heat pumps, powered by low‐emissions electricity, are the central technology in the global transition to secure and sustainable heating. According to a report by the International Energy Agency, heat pumps currently available on the market are three‐to‐five times more energy efficient than natural gas boilers. They reduce households’ exposure to fossil fuel price spikes, which has been made all the more urgent by the ongoing global energy crisis. Installing heat pumps instead of fossil‐fuel‐based boilers significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions in all major heating markets, even with the current electricity generation mix— an advantage that will increase further as electricity systems decarbonise. #lowemissions #nibe #sustainableheating #energyefficient #heatpumps
