It’s World Mental Health Day today. Mind is one of the UK’s 🇬🇧foremost Mental Health charities. https://lnkd.in/emTvCKFt “We’re in the middle of a mental health crisis. 2 million people are currently stuck on waiting lists for NHS mental health services. And on top of this, mental health stigma is still a significant issue. Real people, being left behind by a broken mental health system.” Mind is asking the Government to do 5 things: Reform the outdated Mental Health Act Raise the standard of mental health hospitals Build a network of support hubs so young people can get mental health support before they reach crisis point Support people with mental health problems to thrive at work Make benefits assessments work for disabled people so everyone has a financial safety net when they need it. If you are of a “mind” to, you can join that campaign here: https://lnkd.in/eBpmCEPX.. The recent Children's Commissioner report on Children and Young Person's Mental Health stated that there are over 270,000 children waiting for mental health support. What's more shocking when you delve deeper is that this figure is simply those in waiting. 👉 949,200 Children and Young People had active referrals throughout the year 👉 👉 305,000 of which entered into treatment 👉 👉 👉 372,800 were discharged before they had any access to services We are currently in the midst of a mental health crisis. Our services are a lifeline to many struggling with long wait times, appointment rigidity or even being told they're not deemed sick enough for state provision. 📣 We must continue to be there for those who need us, could your organisation help us to raise vital funds for our services in #Chester? Please get in touch. 💻 info@platformforlife.org.uk #ChestersMentalHealthCharity #MentalHealthAwareness #Charity #ItsWhatWeDo #Counselling #Therapy #MentalHealth

We couldn’t agree more with this NPC (New Philanthropy Capital) report: collaborating to understand the role of digital services and established interventions in supporting mental health is essential, and we’re thrilled that Best For You is featured as an example of cross-sector partnership. Best For You is run in partnership by Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, West London NHS Trust and CW+ and partners with over 75 other organisations to provide an innovative model of care that transforms young people’s experiences of accessing mental health support. The NPC report identifies areas for long-term positive change, including preventative work and early intervention. Best For You provides instant digital support for young people (including signposting), as well as bespoke offers for young people on NHS waiting lists. We’re also thrilled to work with Imperial College London to evaluate Best For You, including our digital resources for young people, to provide some of the much-needed evidence on the effectiveness of digital mental health interventions that’s highlighted in the report. This is crucial and fundamental
Every young person should have access to mental health support. No waiting times. No referral. No appointment. No being turned away because they’re ‘not sick enough’. That’s why we’re calling for early mental health support hubs in every community. We need the Government to #FundTheHubs. And we need *your* voice to help make this happen. 1/ Share this video 2/ Add your name to our open letter to the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt ➡ https://bit.ly/3ufWVUI Let’s mobilise and show the Government that we will not stop until there is a national roll out of hubs. We are louder together. - The #FundTheHubs campaign coalition is made up of the following charities: BACP Black Thrive Centre for Mental Health Children and Young People's Mental Health Coalition The Children's Society Mind Youth Access

Read this post from Lee Godwin .
In the last three years, the likelihood of young people having a mental health problem has increased by 50% 😟 Worrying insights from the Goodchild report 2022 by The Children's Society. As part of Children's Mental Health Week, we need to once again highlight these stats. We need to be doing more every day, but once again we need to use the opportunity across this week to raise our voices on this 📣 So with the theme this year being 'My Voice Matters' I am going to use the next 3 days this week to highlight 3 charities / organisations giving our young people the opportunity for their voice to be heard 💙 #mentalhealth #youngpeople #youngpeoplematter

🧠 Advocating for Men's Mental Health: Join Us in Supporting WNOW 💙 As a passionate advocate for men's mental health, I’m proud to share the work I’m doing with WNOW - When No One's Watching. This incredible charity is dedicated to supporting mental wellbeing, breaking down the stigma around mental health, and providing resources for men in need around Australia and the World! Next Friday, I’ll be walking 60km to raise both awareness and funds for this important cause. Men's mental health has long been under-discussed, and it’s time to shine a light on the challenges men face in managing their mental health. Whether it’s societal pressure, isolation, or the stigma surrounding asking for help, it's crucial we start the conversation and create a supportive environment for everyone. This walk isn’t just about going the distance physically, but about going the distance to ensure that men know they’re not alone in their struggles. I’m asking for your support — not only through donations, but by spreading the message that it’s okay to not be okay, and that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. 💙 How You Can Help: - Donate to support WNOW's life-changing work through the below link 👇🏻 - Share this post to raise awareness about the importance of men's mental health. - Join the conversation and encourage the men in your life to seek support when needed and reach out for a chat with me. Together, we can make a real difference. Thank you for supporting this vital cause! 🙏 #mensmentalhealth #wellbeing #support
