The dignity of women, the rights of transgender people, and the safety of our differently-abled friends are being jeopardized. transgender individuals, and people with disabilities all find themselves helpless in the face of rampant crime. This chaos is a slap in the face to our law enforcement agencies and elected leaders. We demand accountability. How many more incidents before real action is taken to restore safety and justice? Let’s raise our voices for #JusticeForAll and a #SafeCommunity where everyone feels protected and respected. Enough is enough. Recent incidents highlight the ongoing issue of racial harassment, with reports of grown men using racial slurs against children. It's crucial to address these issues head-on, not dismiss them as unrelated to race. This message is for those who might downplay these issues, including disguised racists, ableists, and individuals suffering from internalized oppression. It's essential to recognize and confront racism in all its forms. #RacialJustice #EndRacism #EqualityForAll #HumanRights #BlackLivesMatter #SocialJustice #SpeakUp #AntiRacism #Inclusion #LinkedInCommunity #StandAgainstHate #EqualityMatters #NoPlaceForRacism #DiversityAndInclusion #JusticeForAll Source: https://lnkd.in/dcfpWzn8

Sexual Assault Awareness Month (#SAAM) calls attention to the fact that sexual violence is widespread and impacts every person in the community. Systems of oppression such as racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, ageism, ableism, etc. contribute to higher rates of sexual harassment, assault, and abuse. Unfortunately, those same groups are also the most impacted by inequitable systems of oppression in our society, and statistics show: More than 1 in 4 non-Hispanic Black women (29%) in the United States were raped in their lifetime (Basile et al., 2022). More than 4 in 5 American Indian and Alaska Native women (84.3%) have experienced violence in their lifetime (Rosay, 2016). 1 in 3 Hispanic women (34.8%) reported unwanted sexual contact in their lifetime (Basile et al., 2022). 9% of adults with intellectual disabilities have experienced sexual violence (Tomsa et al., 2021). 47% of all transgender people have been sexually assaulted at some point in their lives (James et al., 2016). As such, we recognize that it will take ending all forms of oppression to end sexual violence worldwide. #VictimsRights #VictimsRightsMovement #MeToo #WeBelieveYou #YouAreNotAlone #SexualAssaultAwarenessDayofAction #SAAM

Just seen this headline: Rebecca Joynes: Teacher who had sex with two schoolboys jailed for six-and-a-half years Let’s be clear - THIS IS SEXUAL ABUSE! Describing it as 'sex' trivialises the crime, ignoring the trauma inflicted on the boys. #LanguageMatters #ChildAbuse Our language should reflect the gravity of the crime, regardless of gender! #GenderBias #ChildProtection #PerceptionMatters #Equality #DoBetter Alt Text: Image of the Sky News Headline - Rebecca Joynes: Teacher who had sex with two schoolboys jailed for six-and-a-half years
