Pokémon VS Palworld From the player's perspective A bit delayed (the winter flu downed us for a couple days 😷) but here it is! We put this together as a fun experiment comparing the cross-platform and past, present and future playing preferences of two player segments on RankOne. Just scraping the surface here of course as there's unlimited different angles to look at this. But was very fun to dig into and happy to share our humble findings with you all. 😊 Enjoy!

RankOne Global shows again how their data can be used to understand complex things easily in the gaming world. Like comparing two games' similarities with each other. With the players' preferences in center. Pocketpair, Inc. and The Pokémon Company International should be interested in this example of Pokémon vs Palworld.

Just finished a new advanced minimap navigation system for my game! It uses Dijkstra's algorithm to find the shortest path in a grid of traffic nodes placed around the map, and then maps that into a line drawn in 2D screen space. With some clever tricks and some calc 3, I mapped out all the road traffic patterns and possible lane changes, then made meaningful links between each node to allow Dijkstra's to do its thing. Check it out! https://lnkd.in/ggFDDvzQ

First Place at the Devslopes Hackathon! 🏆 I'm thrilled to share that the game I posted about in my previous post, PSYCH MURDER MYSTERY, won the top prize in the latest Devslopes Hackathon! It’s been an unforgettable experience working on this terminal-based detective game, blending technical skills and creativity inspired by one of my favorite shows, Psych. Here’s a taste of the game—stay tuned for the attached video demo! https://lnkd.in/euiAcvQJ This hackathon pushed me to refine game logic and manage randomness in gameplay, all while working under intense time constraints. Building a balanced, immersive experience without visuals made me appreciate the impact of thoughtful game design. Whether you’re a fan of text adventures, detective stories, or just want to chat about game dev, feel free to reach out! Big thanks as always to Beanie Brady, Tyler Spicer, Jonathan Higger, Nathan Sevedge and the entire Devslopes team for pushing everyone to make projects, being creative, and always learning new things! #webdev #gamedev #devslopes #hackathon #asciiart #terminal #textgames
