  • 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐞.𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟏 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 #1 #aihasto's MiSide claim the #1 spot.  The game has become a huge success because of how it masterfully blends psychological horror with thought-provoking storytelling.  Because of its unique narrative structure it keeps players questioning their choices and unraveling mysteries, while the eerie atmosphere, haunting visuals, and ambient sound design enhance the tension. The game also stands out for encouraging player introspection, making it both entertaining and intellectually engaging. Interesting to see it perform so well among users on rankone while currently being at place 63 on the steam top selling chart (climbing fast thought). #2 It's been a while but again finding Sloclap's SIFU on the top chart makes perfect sense with the game's Prime Premiere on #SecretLevel and updates (along with recent store discounts). Cool to see how it immediately spiked player interest. #3 MachineGames is still making waves with the amazing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. A game that is likely to be around for quite some time and really deserves all the attention it's getting, and more at that! #4 Hollow Knight on #4 is already a timeless classic but somehow also a staple in people's backlogs. Actually, 33% out of everyone adding Hollow Knight to their profile on RankOne does so in their Want to Play-section. With the hype and curiosity around whether or not we will get to experience Silksong in 2025, the soon 8 year old predecessor seems to still be as relevant as ever. With the amount of interest still surrounding Hollow Knight Team Cherry should expect a spark in players once there's a release date for Silksong. #5 Lastly, Santa Monica Studio and God of War: Ragnarök needs no introduction. It's been around the top on PS5 since release and now might root themselves in the PC-section as well.  Perhaps the recently received Best Game on Steam Deck Award helped as well. • Pokémon VS Palworld From the player's perspective A bit delayed (the winter flu downed us for a couple days 😷) but here it is! We put this together as a fun experiment comparing the cross-platform and past, present and future playing preferences of two player segments on RankOne. Just scraping the surface here of course as there's unlimited different angles to look at this. But was very fun to dig into and happy to share our humble findings with you all. 😊 Enjoy!

  • There's been A lot of talk about Pokémon VS Palworld in terms of IP-rights. So naturally we got curious how this match-up looks from the player's perspective. IP-rights aside, are these two games anything alike in terms of the experience they deliver to its players and to what degree do they actually compete for the same audience's attention? 🤔 To get a better feel for this we put together a side by side comparison the unique playing behavior of Pokémon Legends: Arceus-players VS Palworld-players across All platforms & covering all their past, present and future games. The full analysis will be posted here on Linkedin next week. Stay tuned!

Thinking about making a game? 🎮 Start here: Understand your players. Before you write a single line of code, dive into player segments. Maybe even your own player segment. Ask yourself: - What kind of player am I? - What do I enjoy? - Are there others like me? Look at where they’re heading. What games are they excited about? Spot the trends within your audience. But don’t stay in your basement building for two years. Validate early. Check if your game is meeting their needs. Continuously adjust as you go. Build, test, improve, repeat. Agree?
